The story of the ghost train of the gap (my version)

My version of the story of the ghost engine.

One night a engine was taking a midnight goods train, however at that same time another engine had just finished its work on a new viaduct for the night and set off home, the signal man had already left so the points were set to the unfinished viaduct, the engine came running down the line when the driver saw what was up ahead he and the fireman jumped clear plunged into the gap, shrieking like a lost soul.
