Easily the most insane speedrun I've ever seen, not because of the luckiness of a normal run, but because of the skill and determination he had to lodge MULTIPLE attempts at this, each of which lasted hours, to complete the run. Completing Minecraft alone is difficult, getting every advancement is even harder, and doing it on half a heart and on hardcore is just insane.

When I first saw Elysaku's stream title being half heart hardrcore all advancements, I thought I'm reading it wrong or something because there is no way anyone would ever attempt that. I needed to watch a good few minutes of the stream to make sure I'm reading that right and he isn't joking. Finishing a run like this is truly an incredible achievement.

FeelsStrongMan I remember pikaJ mentioned somewhere that this would be covered if it is completed lol. So happy to see this :). This was crazy to watch live and the fact that Elden did his first ever beacon-swap hdwgh along with doing the new chad hdwgh during AAHHH was absolutely insane and such a big moment. The inclusion of recent aa tech changes was awesome too, really like how this was covered (even though one or two things were slightly inaccurate xD). Very proud of and happy for Elden and the AA community.

Thanks for the kind words! Out of curiosity, what were the slight inaccuracies? I know that during HDWGH, I said that he hooked a dolphin to a post when he didn't (idk why), but since it was so minor, I left it in there.

I don’t know if it’s like a moderation thing because I added a link in my reply or what, but it doesn’t seem to be showing up, so just letting you know I’m not ghosting lol. As a tl;dr for the reply, In general there were like 2 things that were a bit wrong (thunder time and what shulker yeet actually is (insane btw, check out tjthings video on it) ) and then 2 choices made for this video that were weird from an aadv stand-point, but were fine in general. So yeah I really shouldn’t complain about much since this video was super well put together and thought out in general. A lot better than most other videos I’ve seen done about aadv. I’m just a picky and detail oriented person (more so than anyone should be), so don’t let me keep you up at night lol. This is definitely a video to be proud of. (Sidenote if my other one actually goes through I’ll delete this one because it’s not needed).

@@Quidvio About jungle as run killer because of rareness - no, they are common in 1.16; there may be problem with 2 ocelots and 2 pandas. Finding a mesa biome is also never a killer of AA run.

I also did this, not in a speedrun, but just in a survival. I love making farms ans such, so I made a HHH friendly gold farm, pillager farm, and raid farm, so I can get infinite golden apples and totems. I also did a lot of other things on that world, like building a megabase. I really like HHH as a gamemode. But I definitely couldn't do it that fast

yeah tridents are VERY rare. the rates for a trident holding drowned dropping one, while not using looting 3, is 8.5% (the math is 100/8.5), so about every 11.7 trident drowned killed per trident obtained, not bad. BUT trident drowned only have a 6.5% chance of spawning, so its actually about 1.8 tridents, per 100 drowned (the math is 11.7/6.5). so yeah, a 2% drop rate for a weapon that isnt even very useful in regular non-speedrun play, nice.

It's more surprising to me how little has changed since Illumina's run, considering how much the times have come down. (Current WR is 4:33 by Feinberg, for anyone reading. Elysaku's PB is 4:50. Elysaku, Feinberg and Cube have all been on significantly sub-4:30 pace late in a run with no thunder; Dylqn and a couple others are probably capable if they continue to play.) I doubt all the significant strat changes put together add up to more than half the difference. It's mostly just being more efficient.
