great video again betty thanks for the trip down memory lane. S8 scarabs was the most fun ive had watching a team and it was truly sad to see the downfall of the bug boys in season 9. poor boronic hopefully he can find his way into the league in the future because he has become one of my favorite players.

I’m curious how Hi-Rez managed the pay of the players as all of these roster changes were happening… I’m sure that only added to the list of headaches all the roster swaps caused, and if pay is involved I wouldn’t be surprised to see tighter restrictions on roster swapping, at least insofar as taking up new players outside of the SPL

Still though, it’s probably a headache to constantly shift around payroll and have potentially deal with any contracts or paperwork they have to sign. I’m not saying it’s some big obstacle, but nobody likes having to deal with unnecessary messy situations like that

I really, really hope they don't put extra restrictions on new players coming from outside the SPL specifically. SPL teams constantly poaching from each other is a big problem IMO.

The scarabs was always my favourite roster even throughout all of its iterations. Although at least personally I think The scarabs died when inbowned left it still had the core concept and idea behind it of being a team of hungry players. The scarabs was always a wildcard team full of players who had things to prove, and my god were they fun to watch. Get bugged is also the best brand related thing of season 8/9

I really do think there is too much roster swapping going on in the SPL. The constant shuffling and especially the poaching of other teams increases the diff between teams, with strong teams kicking their weakest player to poach from the lower tier teams, making them stronger and screwing the lower tier team, which loses both a strong player and team synergy. But also, it just makes it harder to be a fan of any team. I was a Scarabs fan. Fast forward 6 months and literally none of the players I was a fan of are on the team anymore. I think one solution would be to just ban getting a replacement from another SPL team. It would both disincentivise swapping while still keeping it possible to kick a player who just can't perform or has conflicts with the entire team, AND it would mean that one team swapping a player doesn't cause cascading rosterpocalypses in the other SPL teams.

Ngl I think the worst thing that happened to the scarabs was when they moved merch from insight to skullz, like I thought the white scarabs jerseys where super clean and the sort of teal ones that followed where not it imo. As for the actual team I really mostly feel bad for boronic, like he wasn't even the first choice mid he came in he always gave his all, had some pretty stand out games and now he isn't even on a play ins team.

I think Jarcorr showed the limit of roster swaps. He was on 3 out of the 8 teams in the SPL last year which seems excessive
