My Mother Grace Nielsen travelled from Brisbane on the 21st of August 1955 to London taking the route through Bombay, Columbo and the Suez Canal. I still have her diaries of her travels with many photos. As well as the menus and ports of call and different party nights. So wonderful to see your video, many thanks, Tarn.

Its nice to hear its history .i fortunate enough to have my 4th birthday during the day the ship crossed the equator. We sat at the captains table that day on our return to England from Australia. Thankyou for this video.

Hi, thankyou kindly for this wonderful information....I think my Grandfather was one of the officers, his name is Jeffery Elliott DSO, is there anyway to confirm this and his travels? When war broke out he was part of OP Dynamo, King Orry. Sadly he passed away on the "Ashantian 1943

Great video 👍👍.She was a beautiful ship. But her funnel in 0:43. That is too long. She would have looked better if it was trimmed by a few feet. And she looked like the SS Chusan. Another of p and o ships . And you can see her stern on the SS Oriana and SS Canberra.

Her sister ship the Strathmore was renamed Henrietta Latsi in 1963 and the Stratheden was renamed Marianna Latsi in 1964. In 1966 their names were swapped. How odd.
