I kind of get that same feeling. Think they took some inspiration from the GOT storyline about Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark's sister. She was promised to him, but was really in love with Rhaegar. Robert however couldn't even concieve of that as an idea at all, so he started a war based on the delusional belief that she was kidnapped and raped by Rhaegar. Getting very similar vibes from Viego. He's so blinded by his own delusional reality to see that she doesn't actually love him or want to go back to him. I think it has potential to be a fantastic story :)

Isolde was a very smart women who made the love potion and could treat most poisons including the one that was affecting tristan on his death bed. Interesting point of fact, Yorick really has no control over the Maiden at all. Lore-wise she torments him and tries to get him to give up, give in the Black Mist. In game, she can only be urged to attack a champion or monster, and only for a few seconds, and only if you land a skill shot. She can't be ordered around like Tibbers or Daisy. She has a will of her own and lasts until she or Yorick are killed. She doesn't seem to have a personality even approaching what we know about Isolde, but the Ruination may well have twisted her spirit. I don't know if it's her body per se, but I do like to think it is at least part of her spirit. The timing does seem a little odd as Yorick gets the Maiden presumably immediately at the Ruination, the same moment Isolde is attempted to be revived...? +

If I remember Yorick’s story it’s not the maiden tormenting him to give in to the mist but the souls of his fellow monks who tore off their tears of life and gave in to the mist. And also I don’t believe I’m any of Yorick’s lore the maiden is directly mentioned just the ghouls not maiden. I think we will learn in new lore drops and the like that the maiden is what is left of Isolde’s former body (she will probably get a new especially if she is the next champ) which Yorick can control and it’s magical abilities (the siphoning attacks) are a side effect of still holding some of the water power and maybe even some of the OG blade of the ruined king sword because it does siphoning attack like Viego’s passive and also does percent health damage like Viego and the Blade of the Ruined King item.

i think i prefer the previous version where viego realised what he had done and the abomation that he had created (isolde after being revived) and in how much pain she was that he used a spell to kill himself and his wife but it was ampliified by the magic of the isles (i remeber this right, right?) but i guess it wouldn´t make sense after viego came back because he would lose his porpuse because he wanted to die in the original version and now he is still trying to get isolde back.

Maybe Isolde somehow charmed Viego into loving her, for his power (his brother "all of a sudden" died, so there is open space for conspiracy), so when she died, his unnatural feelings turned him crazy for her, because his needs could not be heard. Later on, Isolde, brought back from dead, realizing that the man she probably hates (there is one Viego voice line that could be translated so) pull her back to him, which could lead her to stab him, not to try saving herself, but to finally try getting rid of Viego (it is possible she plotted the assassination before). This could be a nice tragic story of pursuing power, which backfires into throwing a big "shadow" over Runeterra (literaly :D ) Frankenstein_09

@@thelastcrow5660 ... and? on release darius was a skilled fighter who rose through the ranks through sheer skill and determination, swain was a strategist who after losing his arm and his first battle made a deal with a demon to return to power and reshape noxus, karma is the reincarnation of every other chosen of ionia, but she forged her own way forsaking pacifism and fighting for the greater good. master yi the only one who can use wuju styl (other than wukong I think) like... it doesn't have to be complex or tie into loads of stuff. he has loads of tie ins, the problem is he as a character has little to no skill or power. casiopia and elise (cause they have similar ish backstories) both women who were beautiful but through their vanity ended up cursed into monsters, but before they were monsters they were political figures who could manipulate people. that's interesting cause they did things. viego doesn't do things. idk, maybe I hate it because of the hype about the ruination and how big and impactful of a thing it was, and how cool the character could have been. but there is literally nothing that makes him interesting. (I missread that. in terms of realised.... I mean... he's been a vague figure in the lore for a while, they have had years to make him, and there is so much they could have done with him to make him actually interesting. many champions were slapped together in a short time and have had stronger backstories)

He is a literal will of the mist right now, controlling countless corrupted souls, powerful necromant and just obsessed sick person, who partially this way because of ruination too. He literally went mad so hard, that his own kind of ressurected wife killed him with his own sword. Literally twisted young king, suffering from his love, that make him turn into insane person. With power enough to fuck all runterra more or less and challenge in combat strongest creatures around the world. He wasn't manipulating, he is just a king, who isn't supposed to became a king, but more like just another high aristocrat. His story is interesting in it's own way. And more will come.
