Ustadh Feraidoon Mojadedi relates the powerful life story of Wahshi ibn Harb ("the savage son of war") who, prior to accepting Islam, was a slave best known for killing Hamza ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib (RA), Muhammad (PBUH)'s uncle and afterwards was a Sahaba (companion) best known for killing Musaylimah, the leader of an enemy apostate army who was waging war on the nascent Muslim community.

Ustadh Feraidoon Mojadedi is one of the most well-known and respected community leaders, lecturers, and entrepreneurs in the Bay Area - California.
He was born in Herat, Afghanistan and immigrated with his family to America during the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 1985. After graduating from American High School and Chabot College he attended San Francisco State University where he majored in history.
He grew up in a household with a deep love and reverence for poetry. At the age of five he began to memorize poems by Rumi and other great poets. His love of poetry continued to grow and eventually developed into a passion and calling that would allow him to teach regular classes on Rumi throughout California, the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Germany and even as far as Konya, Turkey, where Mawlana Rumi is laid to rest. The nuances of the Farsi language, in which he is fluent, allows him the unique ability to bring Rumi’s poetry to life and to help listeners recognize Rumi’s essential message of peace, love, coexistence, and connection with the Divine. He is the author and performer of “Layla & Majnun” play produced by Performing Lines in Perth Australia.
Ustadh Feraidoon spends his free time reading, studying, and lecturing on many topics including Rumi and a wide collection of Farsi poetry, spirituality, and self-development. He currently lives with his wife and two children in Dublin, California.

This is one of my favorite stories I was told this as a child and it shows Allah’s rahm. In sending a revelation for Wahshi (RA) and allowing him to redeem himself by allowing him to kill Musaylamah Al Kazab. It shows that we should be thankful to Allah and always be hopeful in his mercy while being cognizant of his wrath.

Hamza died one of the most gruesome deaths in a religious story, when Wahshi threw his spear at him the spear went into Hamza's stomach through his 🍑 , but real talk though Wahshi wasn't just a murderer like the story depicts him as he fought for something real and that was his freedom to choose his own path and to break free from someone's oppression because a part of the story says that after muhammad walked up to him to convert him to islam he then refused as he feared what was told in the Quaran "no man could except Islam without their master's permission" and because he did not think allah would except him after what he did (as said in the video) but he then had the courage to break away from that slave mindset and fid what his heart desired which was to then after he kill the false prophet and later become a full devoted Muslim
