I am not sure about the Story Of Women's Football In Scotland as a title. Yes at the start it was, but later is the Rangers Story. To miss out on all the other teams development of their women's teams really puts a dampner on what was looking like a good production. When you have Glasgow city so dominant, to only receive fleeting mentions brings into question, the legitimicy and acuracy of the story. Rangers as a club were disbanded in 2012 they were not demoted. The new club had to be voted back into the professional league. They attempted to be voted in to the top division and that was rejected at the time. There was a power struggle at that time between Celtic (in the interest of transparency, the team I support), Rangers and the other top flight teams. The power of the two big clubs was far two greatr in terms of voting rights in the scottish game. This was a chance for the other teams with only 11 teams present, to change the power imballance that had existed for far too long. The old Rangers were considered by the new Rangers as a different Legal entity when they needed it to be, such as when victims of the child sexual abuse ( off which was also an issue for Celtic Football Club, as well as many others known and probibly unknown) within the club were looking for compensation. However, when considering historical titles, they were the same club. I would be interested to see what part religion played in the women's game at Rangers, given the historical issues the club had against signing Catholic's. Hopefully it did not play a part, but the story did not cover that. I just spent time at the Women's World Cup in Melbourne, and in response to @showbizsam4440 you are so, so wrong. The women's game has blown away those comments with 1.7 million spectators in the just under 40 games played. The newer countries doing so well, Sam Kerr's goal against England in the semi-final an example of what women can, and regularly do. It would be good if the clubs could do their own documentries on their own teams development, or the women's League sanctions it, so we can have a complete historical record of the progression of women's football in Scotland.

Certainly some interesting points in general, Paul. Probably like the transformation of the Juniors into the pyramid, we'll not know the outcome of Women's Football in Scotland until 20/30/40 years time.

I'm sorry, Rangers. I just don't think there's a market for the women's game. By all means, ladies, I urge you to play the game, it's a great way to keep fit, but the differences in testosterone, height, muscle, even lung capacity, cause the best two women's teams in the world to be well short of the level that you'll see in the qualifying rounds of the men's Scottish Cup. Good luck playing the game, but the physical differences between the sexes mean that a significant audience is out of the question.

I often see criticism of the women's game that looks as if it's directed at the players. This is something that I've done in the past, and I apologise for not being clearer about it. Only the USA captain deserves to be mocked. No other female players demand the ridiculously high priority that the BBC gives to the female version of the sport. They don't demand that we take their game seriously or view it as equal to any level of the men's game. My mockery is reserved for the leftie crackpots who place women's friendlies above men's Old Firms in fixture lists.
