Director of this theater play approached to XZ in 2020 when XZ was attacked from all sides from his opponents and his fans didn't know anything about his whereabouts, he couldn't appear anywhere in public without being attacked/boycotted. At that time he worked silently to prove to those who questioned him as actor/idol that his popularity/success is not accidental and that all those people who call themselves his fans, who supported him, have nothing to be ashamed of cos that was strategy his haters used, they stigmatized his fans, humiliated them just to make them quite from XZ, it looked like it was mistake to like XZ as an idol. That period when he decided to join theater was hardest time of his life, probably many would gave up from everything (I think I would) but he did something what his opponents never expected. His persistence and amazing strength is what impressed me about XZ. That's why he has my respect and admiration as fan. He is first idol(singer not professional actor) who had courage to challenge theater play to prove himself as actor. Best sitting place for this play is in "Lotus Pond", it's in centar of stage where actors circle around audience while playing their parts. This play tells story of patient No 5 long 20 years, in the beginning XZ is young man then growing old while searching for answers in his life. It's very hard/sad story of one man who struggles trough life just like XZ did at the time Director of this play knew very well what was XZ going through at the time, I think that's why he thought that XZ could play this role, as he was matured enough and had emotions/understanding for Patient No 5.😭

When i also watched this clip my eyes is teary and i was so deeply moved by the way xiao zhan delivered his every sentences from the script and the way he act that its so different from all the series he made. Its so special. 😊👌

Happy Saturday Mustafa !! A fair few people believed that XZ was an 'idol/singer' and therefore couldn't be taken seriously as an actor, especially as a live theatre actor.. well he sure showed them didn't he ?? Every director he has ever worked with has commented on how dedicated and professional he has been - those of us who have been invested in his work have already known and seen it. I'm so happy for him that his career is growing with every piece of work he completes...XZ is committed to everything he does whether it be singing/acting/cooking.... now if we could only get some more of it released that would be awesome !

I love this video! It is heartwarming and a nice inner monologue of Xiao Zhan’s thoughts. It gives those who don’t have the opportunity to see a little into his acting career! Thank you for your reaction as always. It is incredible the amount of work and joy that all the performers and staff members of this play had to do. And it is a traveling group so lots of preparations and different audience seating charts, which is the uniqueness of this. In the play, the most desired seats are what they call the lotus pond, which is situated in the middle of the stage and up close to performers. If you watch one of the curtain calls, you will see the lotus pond.

One thing I liked XZ the most is he focuses to improve his acting skills, that’s the reason he participates in this drama. There are some other artists in China after being famous becoz of one good TV drama, they keep doing other shows for money only, thus their fame cannot last long. This is the differences between XZ and others, he keeps on improving his ability 👍

正是因為要親自到中國大陸看他的演出 ，就算是在疫情期間 ，也不可能搶到票 ！所以我選擇了在台灣看這部戲 。因為導演「賴聲川」是來自台灣的導演 所以我也有幸在台灣看到了這部長達8小時的劇作！如果「如夢之夢」的劇本有外文版的話 很建議大家去找來看看 。我知道很多在大陸當地的劇粉希望能夠把這部戲DVD化 ，這樣的聲量很大 ，但是因為他特殊的舞台設計 ，所以沒有辦法達成！在舞台正中心的「蓮池」位置最好 ，因為整個故事是環繞著「蓮池」完成的 ，所以位於蓮池的觀眾 ，除了可以最近距離的觀賞這個故事 更能夠有身在其中，彷彿跟著台上演員一起走過這個夢中之夢 ！這也是這個舞台魅力之處！
