Their first ever quarter-final at a Rugby World Cup. Top of their pool. Playing South Africa, again. This is the epic story so far for hosts Japan. #RWC2019 #JPNvRSA
Absolutely AMAZING hosts. Unforgettable world cup. Loved every minute of Japan 2019. Still watch as many matches as I can to recall the beautiful occasion and best Rugby World Cup ever.

Japan has had a decent grass roots rugby program in place for decades, its about time the first team has stepped up to inspire future players that there is hope.

Agreed I don’t think they wanted to win the whole thing but to establish themselves as a tier 1 capable side

I love Japan. I am Polish. Japan saved 765 Polish orphans in 1920 and 1922. Around 1920, there were about 200,000 Polish in Siberia. Most of them died. Poland has asked various countries to save Polish orphans in Siberia. But all countries refused to rescue. Poland finally commissioned Japan to rescue Polish orphans. The Japanese emperor and empress at the time immediately ordered the Japanese to save the Polish orphans.Japan soon began rescue Polish orphans.The orphan was in Siberia. Japanese continued to rescue Polish orphans in Siberia. The smallest orphan that Japan saved was a two-year-old child.The orphan was crying near her dead mother. The Japanese immediately rescued the orphan. Polish orphans were sent to Japan for treatment. Japan fed the Polish orphans a hot meal every day. All Polish orphans have recovered. Japan continued to love Polish orphans very much. All Japanese donated money to save Polish orphans. Polish orphans were always smiling. Japan has successfully returned 765 Polish orphans to Poland. I will not forget this story. Thanks to Japan. God bless Japan.

It's scary how many times you see Lafaele supporting those tries...practically half the tries by Japan in RWC has Lafaele in it.
@LeagueUnionSevens5 жыл бұрын
Because 9 of their tries have been to Fukuoka and Matsushima (the wingers), and with Lafaele being the centre he's usually the last pair of hands before the ball gets to them

It would be a dream for them to be in the finals but South Africa won. Making in to the quarterfinal is the biggest achievement that they ever done. For everyone that supported Japan, we see them as the winners🤗

They've done well so far overall in this world cup as the first (and only) Asian team to make the quarterfinals and have definitely made history for their country. Doesn't matter if the Japanese squad was a salad bowl of NZ, SA, and the Pacific Islands, they still played together in that jersey for the nation and all of Asia on their shoulders.
Go Japan your my 2nd team beside the All blacks all black and Japan fan hard

this is the influence of overseas players and coaches coming into the japanese league, and having a team in super rugby with the southern hemisphere teams. as a kiwi, i feel its our duty to bring these other teams up to our level. the proof is now in the pudding. we need to be doing more to help out.
@_-.Everlast.-_5 жыл бұрын
Lol, it's not our duty to help anyone, they make waaay more money than we do, they also have a much larger population. They've just become more serious about the game, and it's up to the big corporations that run the teams to do more.
@iluvugoldenblue5 жыл бұрын
@@_-.Everlast.-_ but skill level isn't going to manifest just from throwing more money at something. it's going to come from playing with and against the best on offer week in week out. look at the argentinian super team. they went from not winning a game to the final in the space of a few years. we can't just keep playing the same two or three teams and crush everyone else, we have the unwanted resources to bring other teams up to snuff and we should and do do that.
@april-tui35245 жыл бұрын
iluvugoldenblue no we shouldn’t. If we should help anyone, it’s the other islands, not a rich country elsewhere!
@_-.Everlast.-_5 жыл бұрын
@@iluvugoldenblue lol Argentina? Dude you're putting Argentina up as an example? they've been tier 1 for at least two decades lol we play them regularly now, so yeah.... They're watching on TV like everyone else. 😂

@@april-tui3524 that's my point, it shows in japan's rugby atm why we should continue to help other countries.
