Great championship game Jimmy!! Had everything we could hope for. I’m sure rules will be tweaked a little come season 2, but finding a way to allow moving slaps should increase highlight plays a lot. I’m all for player safety, but for a game called Slapball I think there is too much emphasis on throwing because there are so many rules holding the slaps back. Regardless I will surely be watching again!

I think the planted slap is fine. Running slaps would lead to collision. I would prefer an offside rule where each team needs one player on both sides of the court. This would create more space for planted slaps.
@deadstickgaming3665
@deadstickgaming3665 5 ай бұрын
A shot clock will lead to more fatigue, more injuries, and more physicality which we don't want any of those things. Also not a fan of allowing slaps on the run, but I would be fine if they allow a pivot foot. You still have to be set, but you can move one foot to lean over more. The pivot foot has to remain planted until the ball is in the net

By the end of the tournament, I have about 60% of the goals coming on throws, 40% slaps. And throwers had a .333 throwing percentage, while slap attempts had a .243 pct. Self-slap attempts I have at .216. Jimmy's team basically completely abandoned the slap in the final game and they almost pulled off the upset. This game is great but it really feels like a thrower's game right now. I really hope we see this again next year, but I also hope you workshop ways to even out the efficiency of slap vs. throw. Lots of talk about moving slaps. I totally get that you don't want people flying around in a crowded crease. But could we see moving slaps as ok if the slapper can maintain something like 1 additional step on a follow through? Other thoughts - a secondary arc beyond the goal crease where slaps are worth 2? Or, beyond which a self-slap can be done with just a straight toss to yourself, rather than a bounce? Guys floating around out there are obviously not seen as a threat for anything.
@bearsuitattack

I think with a round crease so it's equidistance from the goal everywhere and only needing to have one foot planted to slap would change a lot for the better. we'll have to wait and see what they change for the next one!

I am not getting this no jumping rule? There were multiple instances of Jake jumping to block a pass and it not getting called. I wish BBD would have gone for those Slapball goals a lot more. Amazing games and truly impressed with what this company has accomplished and looking forward to more Slapball!

@@grime-ndofficial9894 Interesting it took you until now to question the integrity of their games. In all the slapball games combined, they had 3 other goals counted where the foot crossed a line & shouldn't have counted, not to mention a few where the players feet weren't planted. In the first floorball tournament nearly 2 years ago, the Worm Burners were easily the most dominant team in Warehouse history in comparison to the competition. They won their first 2 games 5-0 & 10-3. After that Jimmy made them fake play games closer for entertainment sake. The Worm Burners won their final 2 games 3-1 & 2-1, but they were clearly goofing around a lot in those games, not playing close to their potential. With the Worm Burners acting job, it was like watching the WWE. That left a bad taste in my mouth because those 2 games felt so fabricated.

@@grime-ndofficial9894 I think you're questioning it the first time because its genuinely the first time they've ALL, KNOWINGLY, allowed something to stand just because it looked cool. Any mess up's are accidental I've seen A BUNCH of cool shiz chalked off due to penalties-& I can't think of ANY other examples of clear ref errors that led to tik uniquely cool moments/clips Arguably: it's the competitiveness, rules following, and sometimes genuine anger/happiness that makes the warehouse fun. The silly competitiveness, stats-nerding, occasional trick-shot-nonsense, genuine-skill etc IS HEIGHTENED by their commitment to the rules mattering. The goofs only work when they have a strong foundation to subvert, right? There'd be no 'content' to do it for if 99% of the games were serious and rule follow So yeah. Would love to see an Elam ending implemented in season 2. Once there’s 2 minutes left in the game, the clock shuts off and the winning teams score +1 becomes the target score. Would lead to every game ending on a goal and end all shot clock debates. No need to worry about overtime either.

As pointed out below, why cut the clock off at 2 minutes? Just have the clock count off as much time as you want and then run the Elam Ending rules after that. Your suggestion doesn't account for ties, either, as there's no leading team. I'd also say that if it's a close game (say, within 2) then "next goal wins" for the winning team is too abrupt.
@tennisemilz

To anyone saying that the illegal piggyback goal didn't matter because it was in the 3rd place match: Jack could end up relegated as a captain off of that. He's way better set up than Jolly in the draft for Blitzball and Floorball so it probably won't happen, but to say it's in a "goofy game that doesn't matter" is just untrue.

Slapball has been a lot of fun! One change I would seriously consider would be that only the designated goaltender can be inside their own crease to make a save since you have a change of possession rule dependent on a save. Suppose you could shrink the crease by a few inches on all sides as well to allow a bit more room for the slaps.
@_MjG_
@_MjG_ 5 ай бұрын
Shrink the crease & net size, allow only 1 goalie inside the crease. I also think a slap shot should count if done off of a planted pivot foot, not to require both feet to be planted. They can't allow a moving slap shot (no foot planted) because of risk of injury.
