The key to understanding this movie is what "Abby" says when they found her after she ran away from the birthday party. She needed to escape her painful reality, and Rose saw an opportunity to help an abused child by embracing the child's fantasy; while at the same time, healing her past memory of her sister. I think that's it, but not really sure. Lol.

I danced and moved like Abby(smart ,beautiful soul in the film)when she listened to the guitar,as if it was me touching the musical instruments,for sure I would've done the same,even now.The acting,the music, the singing(I sang along too)(great voices),made everything so real to me, that I saw myself checking the time of the movie,wishing it not to end.I cried through.Fairies ,oh fairies! This was a wonderful movie! For those who are confused about who Abby really is, what the doctor saw on her back and on the x-rays... Because trust me, I was confused too, but this is what I found after searching: "Abby has been abused, and is now on the run, fearful of being taken back to her abusers. On two occasions she attempts to run away from Maggie’s care because she is fearful of being taken away and returned to an unsafe situation."

This is such an endearing movie re: universal concepts of familial etc love(s) universally. The nursing home/assisted living center; school library & music room etc locations were like great accent marks vs. scouted locations, that lent themselves to the storylines! Kudos 2 the Writers, Editors, Actors, Costume & Set designers 4 ensemble efforts 2 put this fabulous 'treatment' 2gether!! The 'spot on' music was definitely integral 2 the plots.
