Nothing wrong with the spelling. Luke 13:24 King James Version 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Strait means "narrow, strict, or constricted." This is why "strait" is the original spelling of "straitjacket" and "straitlaced."
