I can't believe that you left one of, if not his greatest role, 1932's "I Was A Fugitive From A Chain Gang", off your list! This film caused a national inquiry into the Southern states' penal system! Also, you forgot to mention that the film industry thought so much of his performances, that they marqueed him as "Mr. Paul Muni", a honour, few other actors had! R.I.P.!

That's okay because people like you and I know all those great things about Paul because we are true fans. I have every movie he was ever in on DVD. I have enjoyed his work ever since I was a kid and started collecting movies and chain gang is probably my favorite movie by him. 🙋

He should be more well known. What a superb actor. He should have won best actor for "I Was A Fugitive From A Chain Gang" !

Just a correction, the title is I am , not I was, and I totally agree that he should have won , and also think he should have gotten a second nomination in the same year for Scarface, his performance is blistering .

So called "Paul Muni" wasn't even his real name. He was born Frederich Meshilem Meier Weisenfreund He obviously sold-out his birthname, as the result of much pressure from deceitful & mercenary 'Hollywood' moguls?! The fact that he allowed them to change his name, shows that he was ashamed of his heritage and that money was more important than family pride & heritage.
