He was set up, established and explored so well that he really earned the cowl. A good successor to Bruce. That was my favorite part. He could stand on his own. Justice League also had a proper finale with “Starcrossed.” Regardless, all these shows directly feed into one another, so they’re all continuations of the last property.

I feel like this is something they have to fearlessly jump into, in spite of the audience. We have plenty of kid/juvenile supers. Some that take over, like Terry, or Miles from Into the Spiderverse, but also a bunch like Teen Titans, Young Justice, and a few others that simply haven't come into their own properly like Kid Flash. They absolutely could pull the popularity of Terry dozens of times over, if they are willing to take the risk, and write it properly as a successor. Not some "power passed on randomly", or "Some kid found the tech or powers", or "what if Thor was a girl" change. But an actual protégé and successor trained and aided by the old guard. I think that's the best approach. True, not as easy with innate powers, like Superman or Thor, but they pull bullshit out their ass all the time. Just make it engaging bullshit.

I love Batman Beyond. It was such a good show. As cool as it would have been to have a proper series finale, both Return of the Joker and Epilogue basically already provide an ending to the series, so it's hard to feel bad about it when plenty of other animated series don't have that luxury. I wouldn't want them to bring the show back now after Kevin Conroy sadly passed away. I do hope that Terry gets more love and maybe see him in a different animated universe down the road.

The main reason the final episode aired so late after all other episodes had concluded was due to the September 11th attacks. Due to the final episode dealing with a terrorist organization (Kobra) and with the explosions in the episode, they held off on broadcasting the final episode until December of 2001 (it was originally supposed to broadcast in September of 2001).

Terry & Jason probably would have made a great Duo with their personalities. Jason is a character who seems to be full of anger while Terry seemed to mature over the time. Maybe Dick could have been an supportive uncle to two brothers in order to give them emotional support during their darkest days. Dick seemed pretty cool with the way he tried to hold things together when bruce passed away like a Son who had a lot of disagreements with his father due to young age but realized his father's POV later in life, and wished that he could now talk to his father now that he understood him more.

I can’t think of a dc show I loved more than beyond. It was as truly a masterpiece. As a kid I looked up to terry and Bruce cause they had flaws but a lot of redeeming qualities. The story telling, the messages, the wit and action; I can’t begin to explain the imprint it left on me. When I have my own kid imma have em watch this cause there’s none like this. I think an animated film is maybe most likely if anything. Though, without Kevin Conroy, I think it would either have to go without an appearance by Bruce Wayne or be set after Bruce has passed. The Epilogue-age Terry is less familiar, though, so maybe the former situation would be better. Batman has plenty of stories of investigating across the globe, so Terry's Batman can as well. Plus, it would be cool to see more of what the DCAU world looks like in the time of Neo-Gotham.

And perhaps on top of my list is probably The Avengers: earth's mightiest heroes. If a (EARTH-53 BATMAN BEYOND) cartoon series might get made someday; I hope the character hero (The Signal) is in it, I hope new character villains are in it, along with new allies, friends, other heroes, a few familiar characters, and some former characters are in it. I imagine the full name of Earth-53 Realm’s (The Signal) is (Duke Thomas Brown) & I imagine him being born a MetaHuman. I also imagine a scenario in which age:20 TERRY, meets age:16 DUKE by chance, when TERRY is fighting against an enemy, and he saves the life of (Duke T. Brown) from serious danger.

I mentioned in another youtube video on the subject that "Batman Beyond" is a case where history repeats itself in the next generation; you can also see it comparing "Extreme Ghostbusters" to "The Real Ghostbusters". In the case of _this_ BBeyond episode, there was a BTAS episode where a mad docter learned who Batman is, but Batman used his will power to force the "thought recorder" to record something else; this leads the other villains to accuse the doctor of plans to betray them. He then plainly tells them who Batman is, and they *refuse to beleive him.* That was the faint basis for this episode...

Samurai jack got a revival and an ending. Really enjoyed it till the time paradox. Ash used her dark powers being a daughter of aku to bring Jack to the past. But if she can't exist in the past because aku's death means she doesn't exist in the future, that would mean that her powers in the future wouldn't be able to be used to bring Jack to the past so it would be impossible to kill aku. I really felt a defeat where this becomes evident to them and they're flung back to the future where they are momentarily defeated. And that when the reality that traveling back in time is realized they still kill aku in the future and begin to rebuild his lost home would have been a more fitting ending than the one we got. Felt like a cop-out that he had to be sad in the past without his love, rather than sad in the future knowing his home is lost forever and he needs to rebuild.

Remember that at the time (2001) there was no streaming or binge watching: *DVD* technology was still relatively new, most people didn't have show box sets. So syndication was reasonably the main way that this was going to be viewed, and syndication specifically doesn't want hard endings. This seems like a prime candidate for 3D or hybrid animation reboot though: Spider-Man animated didn't get a solid ending but there have been tons of spiderman reboots. Most likely is that DC corp doesn't see it as different enough from primary Batman.

The example of this sort of thing that always sticks out in my mind is the ending of the the Silver Surfer animated series in the 90s. It doesn't just end in a weird place. It literally ends with Thanos destroying the universe. They clearly weren't planning on getting cancelled and this was supposed to be a cliffhanger, but then the show never came back so, in that timeline, I guess Thanos just destroyed the universe while SS looked at him with a shocked pikachu face.

I thought the justice league unlimited episode “epilogue” was Batman beyond finale.

Knight Rider: S4 had "Voodoo Knight" (E22) as its final episode, when "The Scent of Roses" (E12) would've been more fitting as a "off-into-the-sunset" finale.

A very underrated cartoon that was on KidsWB that I rarely hear people mention was “The Legend of Calamity Jane”. That series didn’t go for very long and I don’t even think it got a VHS or DVD release.

Despite no more animated episodes, there are many excellent comics starring Terry as Batman Beyond. Batman Beyond: Hush and 10,000 clowns to name a few.

Married With Children (1987-1997) never got a proper series finale episode. In went well into an 11th season 20 something epsiodes, but the show was canceled before it had a chance to have a real last episode.
