Best Torso Video for me, Thank you so much! Would be nice if you might do another one with a deeper dive in some things like random function. How to add different randoms to different functions and ho to make randoms looped into maybe 8 steps.

Agreed. Also how rate & cycles interact with random (per function) and how this can be used creatively.

Yes!! Visualizing the midi is so helpful for the voicing/range stuff especially. One other fun thing you can do is hold Pattern and change some parameters, and it will affect all tracks in the pattern - great for midi looping stuff, or a key shift etc. Such a fun sequencer. Great walkthrough mate!

@sgsrules2 ай бұрын
I'm asking here because: a)None of the other tutorials (including torsos) seem to cover random very well. b)Your tutorials are brilliant. c)I love your voice. Let's say that randomization applies a random "envelope" to stuff. At what level is this random envelope used? Is it the same random envelope for all tracks, all parameters but unique to that track, or is it unique for each parameter? When i change the randomness either by turning the random knob or hitting clear random does this create a new random for all tracks, all parameters, or is it unique for each parameter?

Great coverage of this. I got the T-1 a few days back to integrate with things like my Arbhar. Currently got it working with my Maschine MK3 and Ableton over sync. The challenge I'm trying to work out now, is I can get 1 bank / set of patterns to map the 16 drumpads to the T1 (over 16 channels), but the moment I switch to a different group, it fires off on both groups simultaneously. Once I've worked that out, it's going to be a match made in heaven.
@vvcv__006 ай бұрын
I've never known a sequencer to do what I couldn't write within a few minutes, but the T1 used with delays, or something like the Microcosm, could potentially stand in as a second musician. Quickly changing chord progs on it, while I'm playing something else (melody), is literally like having another musician there. Bad ass!

Just bought one. Thanks for the vid. However, i think u skipped over how to assign the actual instrument to a track?
@mylarmelodies6 ай бұрын
Just set the track to the MIDI channel that corresponds to the MIDI channel your instrument responds on - or for CV and Gate stuff you set what track that gear responds on in the software editor
@Hamishmcbeth6 ай бұрын
So for example channel 1 can be set to session instrument 1 in ableton, channel 2 to session 2, etc? Because thats what I figured, it’s just not doing that 🤔

great tutorial!- I am new to setting up midi devices and using Bitwig as my DAW. With the T-1 im not sure how to setup the channels to map to different instruments in bitwig are there some starter guides can recommend to me?
@mylarmelodiesАй бұрын
Just a case of setting up channels on Bitwig to respond on different MIDI channels, manual will tell how to do that. Then it’s a case of getting T1 to send to the various MIDI channels you want (and it’s mapped from channel 1-16 by default)
@bradon2318Ай бұрын
@@mylarmelodies thanks I got it working (at least one way) just had to click around to find where midi channels were listed in Bitwig... there may be more than 1 way to do it though.

This was quite a performance. Oh, it was a tutorial alright, but the presentation was first rate. Reminded me of my visiting The Magic Castle and attending a ‘close-up’ magician doing his routine which was delightful, because it was done right before our eyes, and yet surprised us. Right about the time I was ready to yell at you for ‘stop with the droning melody’, you tweaked it, with the t1 and it became well, interesting. Kind of like the close-up magician did with just a few simple moves. Now comes the ask. Please do something like this with the Squarp Hapax. I’m still finding it a bit too much to wrap my mind around the many options and procedures for this instrument, even if I’m aware it’s probably more straightforward than I’ve made it. Could you do a ‘performance’ for the Hapax like you did for the Torso t1?
@mylarmelodies7 ай бұрын
Thank you and yeah I structure and edit trying to retain how a viewer would perceive it, if I’m bored, someone else will be! Hopefully someday will check out the Hapax, looks good!

so... an autoacompaniment machine. Something like those keyboards you used to get back in the day, where you could go into split mode and have the left hand play instachord-vamps while the right hand played the tune, but without the right hand. There must be something musical it can do, but at the moment I'm not seeing it. I'm sure I'm missing something because people seem to think highly of it. Thanks for the demo.
