The reason both Erica and Annalise have the same VA (outside of probably being less expensive) might be because this movie is one of the ones where barbie is an actress making a movie, she's playing both parts (Annalise and Erica), so it makes sense that they sound the same

I personally don't see Wolfie barking as a racist representation. Just commented that a lot of anime voice actors are in the Barbie movies! Barbie herself is played by the VA for Sango in Inuyasha and she’s played Barbie in a lot of movies. Once you hear it you can’t unhear it.

why are all my faves making videos about this gift from god themselves, "Princess & the Pauper"??!!!? This movie was literally so good based on the villain alone. Preminger was, in a sense, the embodiment of a limp wrist. Oh, and I thought the dresses were pretty and the music was fun to sing along to. My sister and I "assigned" characters to one another, I was "the blue one" and my sister was "the pink one". I love your videos and humor when you review these types of movies (bad animation but great memories), your, for the lack of a better word, snarky-ness is just refreshing.

Literally all the Barbie movies have anime voice actors in some capacity, with at least 3 being from Inuyasha. The VA for Miroku is the prince in Nutcracker, the VA for Sesshomaru is the big dragon in Rapunzel, and the VA for Barbie in every 90s Barbie movie is Sango which means yes there is a movie where she and Miroku’s VA get to be a couple again. The movies also boast legendary voice actors like Cree Summers and Tim Curry.

i fully believe the "you be a princess" song is trans actually. it's very common for trans guys to teach their trans girl friends how to present and act feminine (and although the things Julian teaches her are outdated, it IS what transfems learn to do; they need to know the girl etiquette to pass). Erica is even wearing a blue-pink-white dress, and at some point Julian pushes her into a closet and she "comes out" in a more feminine, fancier dress. i don't even have to look for the transgender subtext, it slapped me right in the face edit: i will also add that even their names feel trans for me. Julia (/Julie/Juliet) is a more common feminine name than Julian for men, and Eric is more common masculine name than Erica for women. Julia and Eric are Julian's and Erica's deadnames, and they just choose the "opposite version" of their deadnames as their chosen names, which is also a common trans stereotype
