The Flight 19 incident was pretty easily explained as human error. You can read plenty about it. Most of them were still trainees, and the leader was a well known alcoholic. It's generally believed they got thrown off course slightly, and when using a landmark they confused one coastline for a totally different area, ultimately sending them in the wrong direction. The compasses weren't broken, it's just due to them thinking they were somewhere else, the leader assumed they should be going one way when ultimately they were going another. Aka if you're certain taking the right path is North, but your compass is saying it's South... is the compass broken, or did you take a wrong turn? It'll very likely be the latter :P. The same with him saying everything was 'wrong' probably just meant he was disorientated because he was certain he was going one way but the position of the sun etc was saying another. Rather than listen to air traffic control who were trying to steer them back onto the correct path, or pause and get their bearings better (read the compass/ position of the sun/better look at landmarks around them), the leader forced them to continue on the trajectory he was certain was 'correct' and ultimately flew them further out to sea. Due to it being a training flight, they were only running on limited fuel, and would have run out thanks to going too far off course. They were basically all sadly killed due to one man's stubbornness and ego.

That's honestly the most reasonable explanation I've heard yet, it makes total sense. What really devastates me most about all of these cases (apart from imagining how terrifying the victims' final moments must have been) is the friends and families left behind, who will never get to properly bury/cremate/memorialize their loved ones. The choice was just completely ripped away and their loved ones are lost at the bottom of the ocean. I have a huge water phobia so that's just like the absolute worst way you could go, in my opinion, I couldn't imagine.

Someone probably commented this already, but it is now known that Plato’s Atlantis was a fictional place written as a metaphorical representation of Plato’s belief that if his society continued its “immoral” behavior, their civilization would fall. I've been through the Bermuda Triangle six times while in the USS Navy on the USS John F Kennedy CV-67. The Sargasso Sea was beautiful and the water so clear. We even had a fun in the sun day in the Sargasso Sea and there was no wind blowing. For three hours I had duty, but enjoyed the day afterwards. If you study all the ship, airplane losses in all the Earth's oceans and seas you will find out that the Bermuda Triangle is no different than the other seas. UFO's and USO's have been seen in all the oceans and some large lakes nothing new there. The ocean can be a beautiful lady or she can be a terrible lady of doom!

@@Carbon_Based_Life_Form I recommend watching the video on Atlantis by Overly Sarcastic Productions. It explains the information we have on Atlantis from Plato’s original writings to modern day searches and examples of Atlantis like land masses. It’s very interesting. I won’t argue against your statement that Atlantis did exist, although I do disagree. From as far as our understanding can maintain, Atlantis was a metaphor for the luxurious lifestyle of modern Athens and showed how Plato believed that if Athens didn’t change their ways they would fall. In his story he depicted Athens as strong and humble, a description more close to Sparta at the time. The story was attempting to shed light on Athen’s imperialistic society and combat its constant conquering.
