About using agents: I understand that schools have recently implemented a compulsory requirement to apply for enrolment through their approved agent(s). My comments about not needing an agent exclude that particular scenario as there's no way to avoid it. However, it's still valid that the process of applying for visas is straightforward enough for anyone to navigate without the help of an agent.

For the skills assessment I have got an experience letter from an employer which is just a paragraph of them confirming my employment with them including the start date and end date. I'm afraid whether this would suffice the need of skill assessment requirements?
