Such orchestration. I can almost smell the victory. 100% control over every contingency. Domination. We will need deeper mines to retreat the radiation. . . Re-population will be a concern. I must remind you civilians in the comment section, NO FIGHTING IN THE WAR ROOM!

The narrator sounds like Frank Reynolds. I remember him from the ABC national news growing up. Thanks to a documentary, I also remember seeing him do an interview during the time of the trial of those who murdered Emmitt Till. One has to give a lot of credit to Curtis LeMay for making SAC the vaunted military force it became and hopefully remains. It was LeMay who was the architect of SAC as lay persons grew to know it and as those who served in it became essential pieces in a highly sophisticated system.

Most of the time, there were more targets to bomb on the first run and ensuing runs. So the pilot's and navigators would have to "jink and jank" in order to hit the 2 or 3 targets on each run. The distance between targets was only measured in a few minutes, or even seconds, so the entire crew had to "stay on their game" to release at each target and hit it "within a specified distance. A VERY BUSY and PRESSURE PACKED time for the crew.
So - it's easy and fun for some to joke about it, but looking back, after I lived it and flew it forty years ago, I wonder if the "guy on the other side" has the same sense of survival that we generated for him. Does he know someone is "sitting in the hole", ready to cause him grievous harm if he attacks us or our allies? I hope so, but I am not too sure. Time erodes the edge of readiness. Think about it - and sleep well!

I am glad that you took your work seriously. I began kindergarten during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Had you and others not taken their work seriously then the world would be very different today. Folks making jokes now might not be here.

@@davidsandell7833 - Jesus man, we should definitely not nuke the world. For it ours to inherit. Biblical or not, it's a human standard. I get the point of duty. I served. And cannot confirm nor deny any nukes on my ship at the time. That SAC technology is MAD. And outdated. Air Force gets to be star in Afghanistan right now and display the logistic miracle.

In 1966 we had the joint chief's of staff that were PATRIOTS!!! Not like today when they call our potential enemies and reassure them we won't attack them because the Chief of Staff has decided to form his own shadow government.

1. 1962 Octo14, US CIA air recon info: missile base construction in Cuba. President John F. Kennedy & UN Secretary-General U Thant deal with USSR: dismantle Soviet missiles in exchange for no-invasion agreement. 2. U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy made a personal deal with Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin, that Jupiter missiles in Turkey would be removed soon. Jupiter small nuclear missiles were removed by air from Turkey 1963 April 24. i can do better. - james mcashan for US Senate

i can provide plans for new global civil support structure, including modern vehicles for free general public use that convert simply to "tactical" or military use. tactical support groups include any actual functional security agent, and to avoid slavery and death we all need the options of individual life support and physical separation and legal protection from others. the world is ours, and we deserve a part of the huge extremely wasteful industrial system. - james mcashan for the US Senate
