How do consider waiting a crazy long time for a video *good*?
@PintsofGuinness10 жыл бұрын
lol i was referring to the days when the strokes were still doing proper tours. also it was live streamed so there wasnt really a 'wait', it was just mediocre quality.

Yeah, you really, reaaaally need to make it to see them! You must! I dunno, I was addicted to them. They were like a drug, haha! I couldn't help myself. They came around, I was there. But, I didn't get to see them with their last tour =( The people at Jules solo shows were very supportive. I've met some really cool people from his shows that I still keep in touch with. Okay, our mission, to get YOU to a Strokes show! ^___^
@Roodski15 жыл бұрын
oh that lead guitar tone is sweet. plenty of sustain :)

^_^ It was, it was! I remember first seeing the Last Night video in Oct of 2001 or something like that, and I promised myself that I WOULD SEE THEM. Haha..I think I went overboard on that promise to myself coz I've seen them 15 times since I made myself that promise. (And Jules/solo 3 times) I was center front at the 2002 show and when I saw Jules for the first time, standing in front of me....I swear I had never come so close to passing out before! hahaha! But yeah, for reals....it was nuts.

OMG!!!!! You re totally killing me...How did you manage to get to all those shows? I am in awe of you - you totally deserve that User Name! lol! I will do whatever it takes to get to see Julian sing live...if it's with the Strokes - great...Solo tour - will be a better chance that it will be a smaller venue - works for me. I heard that the crowds were so supportive of him on the solo tour..and that he seemed surprised! He is too awesome..and, he looked great for those solo shows....sigh.....

Like the guy said a few posts below, you can get a similar sound by turning the tone buttons off (to 0) and setting the switch to clean/rhythm. It works for me... oh, and distortion should be on, of course.

I actually saw them for the first time in San Diego in early 2002, the good ole days.....Okay, I'm making myself feel realllly old right now. HA!

@DaniloSuperStar Take your Jeckyl and Hyde Overdrive/Distorion pedal, gain it up, pipe it through your Hot Rod Deville, switch your nick valensi series epiphone riviera to the neck position and roll back all the town. you will get that signature sound.

IMO Nick is more talented than Albert. I wonder if that is the problem. The problem being that the Strokes haven't made an album in 3 years. Maybe it's an ego thing. Just throwing that out there. Not trying to fuel anything. Albert is quite talented himself.
