At 1:36 he says what I believe to be some of the hardest lyrics of expressing your love to someone and making it seem so real. He says “I love you in the morning, so you know it's no lie” and goes to show people believe to be at their worst in the morning and being able to still love them at their worst. I just think that’s amazing and beautiful lyrics.

I'm a new fan of The Strokes, I saw the hype around this album when it was released and I'm so glad I gave this album a try, it's one of the best albums I've heard and I just enjoy it more and more every time I listen to it. This is also my most favorite track out of the entire album, it's pure utopia when I listen to it envisioning myself in a Twin Peaks-like town's beach (or getting stranded in a self-sufficient island), the place is empty and I don't hear anything except the waves and this song playing on my old mp3 player.

Como que extraño los 9 a 5 Haz esas cosas que no puedes esconder Lucho, peleo tal como un niño Me quedo con hambre (x4) Sin estar enojado Me quedo con hambre Sin estar enojado Sigo con hambre

Lyrics: I sing a song, I paint a picture My baby's gone, but I don't miss her Like a swan, I don't miss swimming All my friends left, and they don't miss me Can't take it, babe Your body talks to me Like in a movie, babe I let it resonate, yeah I want your time (time, time) Don't ask me questions (questions, questions) That you don't want (want, want) The answers to (to, to) I love you and I'm honest so you know is not lie You're hidin' in the background but you wanna be found You've got me on my back and now I've gotta think fast You're hidin' in the background but you wanna be found I take it easy, babe, I I get down, it's automatic, uh I've come to believin' that That too much time is evil I transition in I'm making your body wait Like on an aeroplane Please, baby, take me away, yeah I want your time (time, time) Don't ask me questions (questions, questions) That you don't want (want, want) The answers to (to, to) I know I know I know I know I kinda miss the nine to five, yeah Do those things that you can't hide I scramble, fight just like a child Hey, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah I'm staying hungry, I'm staying hungry I'm staying hungry, I'm staying hungry Not getting angry, I'm staying hungry Not getting angry, staying, staying hungry Yeah Hold on, hold on, hold The click was always in you fab It was never on It was never on

My absolute favourite part of this song is that 'wah wah' synth guitar sound at 0:57 and Julian's robotic voice singing 'I want your time'. Ugh love it

I think it's actually Nikolai who says "It was never on" the first time, in which case it's gotta be the first time Nikolai's voice is on a Strokes record :)
@beatrizgaspar66974 жыл бұрын
What does this mean tho, what's the click?
@bryanc67004 жыл бұрын
@@beatrizgaspar6697 The click track is an audio cue to help synchronize the different rhythmic parts, similar to a metronome. Drummers often use them when recording to keep a consistent beat, which is probably what they're referring to here I'd guess :)

If high functioning depression had a sound, this would be it, purely. From 3:51 to the end of the song reminds me of being stuck and smiling, the constant cut offs in between the guitars remind of a facade that eventually becomes norm.
