My friends grandad used to live in that house at the bottom lock at wheelock, he told me his grandfather got up in the morning and checked the railway line, once he did that he then worked the locks as a lock keeper. The house of course came with the job, I bet it’s worth quite a lot now.

It sold for a song, as I think the auction house that sold it mixed up the auction date and the person that bought it had a bid in knowing the correct date and got it with his opening bid as nobody else bided. I will not give the cost away on here but I can tell you he got a great deal.

It is hard to workout sometimes where to start and end videos. The next one is quite short too, but the one after is a longer one.

Old and simple, not glow plugs no pre-heater just very low compression so turn the switch and it is running, even in the midst of winter.

The number of locks put a lot of people off, but it is a great stretch of canal.
