Hard to imagine this came from D.W. Griffith. It's so visually primitive. It's like watching a Biograph with a sound track.

I like the film but it's a huge step backward, to be sure. I wish he continued making films. I think he still have stories to tell.

It reminds me to a lot films from early sound period, the directors didn't know yet how to make movement with sounds, it will take them years to do it, Griffith was no exception to this rule.
