Uuuggghhh, the mail!!!! You are so right about this one. We were in illinois last year, and the rv park where we stayed had an issue with the usps. We had to go to the post office to get our regular mail, but, for some reason, they were ok with ups. It was strange. Sometimes, we'll have really important mail go to my parents home.

We’ve been on the road for nearly five years and yeah we’ve ran into things that need repairs or bad weather, but even after we factor everything we are spending less per month on the average than our house we had. Thanks for putting together this video! Because RVing isn’t a nonstop vacation.

Totally agree about recycling! I have a 2 bag to 1 ratio of recycle to trash, and nowhere to dispose of it. Also, loved my Brooklyn Bedding matress we put in our last RV. Unfortunately hubby likes the matress in our current RV so I guess we will be keeping it.

Foam mattress, can emit gases and frequent contact with mattress in its sleeve can cause elbow and knee skin problems. My skin problems increased with urea salve. So I suspect foam is made with urea.

During COVID and because we are old, we started shopping online with stores such as Walmart. I don't know if all Walmart stores offer the curbside pickup service. I find it very convenient to compile an order and then drive into town to have it loaded into the back of my vehicle. It's an excellent option and makes shopping much quicker. I hate to shop.

A very important dose of reality, Charity, thank you! We are just part timers, but I can certainly see that there are many more challenges for full timers. As much as we enjoy RV'ing, I know we could never do it full time. As far as meeting people, RV'ing has allowed us to meet some of the nicest, most interesting people who we would never have met any other way or circumstance, like you folks for example!

It is true, if anyone thinks living On the road is all rainbows they don't have a grasp on reality. Having not jumped in yet, still exploring the ins and outs. I do watch several channels, you tubes etc..things break down, people get sick, weather changes and quickly. Health issues arise and if your are not near your doctor what do you do? Animals, do you have one or more? So many things can come up. The adventure I feel is always exciting. Going to see family you don't get to see every day, yet having your own space. This part is awesome with our pets. This channel is one of the best!!!! Such awesome advice and tips. Always useful. Fun storage tips, wow! I've used some myself in our motor home. Such useful ideas.... no matter what you do, be prepared for what ifs, plan ahead. Know your vehicle weather it's an RV, van or car/truck. Have tools, back up plans. Also let someone know where your headed, where you are. Just in case..

Being from a State that has recycled since the 80's, the lack of recycling in many states is very concerning.

We asked someone at A KOA why there weren't more places to recycle. They said that campers would ignore the signs and put trash in recycling bins, and then the campground would get in trouble. So they stopped the recycle program.

What do full time RVers do for school and what about the childrens' social life?
@kenmcclow8963
@kenmcclow8963 Жыл бұрын
I think similar to boat life people there is home schooling. Younger children just seem to naturally find each other in campgrounds and places, but maybe middle school to high school might be better in a fixed location. Entirely depends on the kid though. My parents moved a lot, so I never lived anywhere for more than a few years growing up although I did the last three years of high school at one school and my brother and sister had middle school and high school in the same place and I think that builds longer lasting friendships. However because of social media, I’m basically in touch with most of the people who I went to high school with no matter where I am even though I might not have laid eyes on them in years.

She won't answer that because she's selfish and only cares about her own experiences. Her kids will definitely be talking to a therapist about this later in life

I was born, raised, and grew up in the same house my parents still live in, never moved once-schools, nothing, except for college. I don’t have connections with anyone from my youth. Why? I think it’s because my parents didn’t/don’t value friendships…never modeled building and maintaining relationships. Now, nearly 50 years old, I realize that your “roots” don’t have to be dependent on a physical/geographical location. Rather, it can be a place of the heart, of maintaining and reaching out, of making an effort to actually “get together” when you say you will. Remaining stationary for the sake of so-called stability is a fallacy in my opinion. P.S. Please don’t tell my mom. 😂😝

I don't think that is fair at all. I was just asking for the reasonable options. The experiences Charity's (and other children) get from travel and family time is valuable and unique. Classroom knowledge can be obtained in many different ways, but the lessons children get from traveling and spending meaningful time with loved ones can't be duplicated. @@yourgooglemeister6745

Another great explainer video. RVing is not this nomad lifestyle .It's not a summer of love , living off the land in your VW bus anymore. Laws , rules , even social acceptance has changed. We are not fulltime . We hope to eventually spend a couple months in a row traveling , but planning just 2-3 weeks , as you are all too aware , takes time and resources. We will get there in good time .Enough preaching to the choir. The "ROO Crew " hopes you always have tailwinds and a smooth road ahead.

Its sweet you don't feel "right" about throwing glass into a trash bin.. but you do realize that it all goes to one place , right? there is not a place in the US that has separate trash from recyclables. Just saying. Carry on.
