The struggles of walking 30 km per day | Via Francigena

In August-September 2021 I participated to the four-month event Road to Rome. It’s been a four month relay race along the whole Via Francigena, from Northern France to Southern Italy. I contributed by walking with the group for eight days, in order to promote slow travel and sustainable tourism. While walking I filmed a documentary that I then distributed for free on my KZbin channel.

What a beautiful video, I can literally smell the scent of this beautiful landscape. I like this type of hiking, I also practiced it in the 80s and I can remember impressive tours, also on Lake Bolsena, on Lake Trasimeno, in the crete south of Siena, on a tour in the Chianti area from Strada to Greve. And don't forget around Fiesole with a nice distant view of Brunell's Dome in Florence. Goditi la vita, è breve !

Hi Fiorella. Ours was a special event for the 20 years of the association. This video is a little extract of a full documentary I did on the experience, if you go on my playlists you’ll find it. The first few minutes of it I explain everything. I know that the association organizes several group walks a year. Go to their website and look for it (link in the description of my documentary). If you don’t find them send them an email and they’ll help you.
