The Stu Review: Marshall DSL100H

Here is my overview of the Marshall DSL100H amp head. I did not have a lot of time with this head and the room was very hot since my AC wasn't working. So it is a little rushed.

It depends on your settings… and on your taste. Mine sounds like a classic Marshall, not fizzy at all. But I use it withGibsons or a SSH strat… and not too much gain, 70s style. My first Marshall was a 60s Super Lead bought s/h in 1972, so I know something about Marshalls… Tubes and speakers are very important too. Greenbacks or Creambacks are the way to go. In my opinion this is not a high gain amp, it sounds better if you use it as a single channel head, with an external booster or ovd (I use the one il the Fractal pedalboard) And forget the reverb!

Seems like a decent mid-range head. Not my cup of tea, but it seems like it wouldn't be a waste of money. Mic placement is on-point here, you got a pretty clean tone. Other demos I've heard with this head sound like shit.

I think it's a great buy if you like that Marshall sound. There is a little too much of the "fuzz" tone going on for my personal taste but I did really enjoy the clean tones I was quickly able to get. I am going to have to check out other demo videos out now. lol. Glad I was able to capture a good sound from the mic.

I'd love to hear a les paul tuned to b, or a standard or open, but every video is some dude with a strat, or somthing. I want to hear what it sounds like in a or b using a lp.....and cranked up!!!!

I actually don’t have a Les Paul. Always wanted one but could never afford it. Closest I ever came was an ESP Eclipse. I am going to redo my guitars with different tunings so I can grab what I need when I need it. I think that would be better. Thanks for the comment. Keep shredding 🤘🤘

@@StusWorld my l.p. is Epiphone, I got lucky.... the dude I been doing business with at a pawn shop had one he had just got, cherry sunburst and only wanted 325 for it. I went home, grabbed my warlock platinum, erniball 51q wah,...with all the shit! And a boss delay pedal. He says, "you want to trade all that for this one guitar?" I was like yes sir, I had not even held it, but just looking at it, I knew she was in almost new shape. He handed it to me I checked it out, and my feeling about it was spot on!.... it is a 2014, standard pro. It plays like gold. Not a scratch, 1 factory blemish that if you ain't looking you won't see it.... her name is "CHERRY" . and she's set up to fuckin DOOM!!! Like I said,.... I got lucky. My other love is a '88 bronze bc rich. A lil dinged, but not bad. Plays sweet, .... It's one of those rare ones, that just feel right, seems to know when you want to hear war, or if you feel like cryin. I call her REBAL. Between the b pick up, and the neck is a Rebal flag D cal $90 lol
