There is an overriding clutch in the transfer case, that kicks the front axle in. Remove axle front driveshaft and the front housing off the transfer case simply clean the clutch the front axle will engage fine again.

@@thebad300 I drive in the mud loaded with rocks and I never have front wheel drive and sometimes I don’t even get the luxury of being able to lock all of the duals. We just put in a road for a house site with 2 springs running under the road bed. Ended up building the road with surge (6 inch) before a truck would stand up on it. Wish all the creek rock wasn't gone. That worked better than anything and the smaller stuff bonded up with the large and made a smooth surface. Fix the 5-ton.

Wow, it was in there pretty good! How much did you lower the tire pressure? those super singles can go down pretty far, and that will help with traction. Sorry to make a comment about being slow in the head, but dump the rock and lighten the truck up and it would come right out with a little help. I have done and done the same thing over and over before, and where the rock is dumped, it will be needed to firm up that soft spot anyway. My God and this guy who goes by let's dig or something speaks like he's a pro, but so very far from it.

just so everyone knows. how they hooked up that chain is super risky. if you were to do this on a regular pickup you run the risk of folding your frame in since there is pressure pulling the two points together and truck frames are not made to resist that type of pressure
