She hasnt done anything to her skin as far as I know. but a proven side effect of weight is skin darkening. So if she appears lighter it could be because she has lost so much and has healthier blood flow to the surface of her skin.

The surprising thing I learned about her in this video is that she didn't have much support from her parents. She rose above her upbringing and stayed confident in herself. I was surprised to hear that she did not want to go into show biz at first, wow! She is such a believable actress. I was also surprised that she was a phone sex operator at one time, well, sometimes you gotta do what you have to do to pay the bills. She is tremendously strong; I did not know all that about her past - or present. I love that she accepts as long as she has a body, she will struggle with it then admitted that there is no way to work off her weight. There are many women, including myself, who have spent too much energy striving for a body they really want when they could have spent in much more worthwhile ways. Also, ending an eating disorder after only 3 years is really impressive, especially if she was getting such a high. Kudos. I really hope she continues to have more influence and acclaim so more people can appreciate what a good role model Gabourey can be.
