Back in 2015, Valve released an update for CS:GO, introducing replay kill cams, Christmas sweaters for chickens, and the most busted, game-breaking gun of all time: an $850 revolver going toe-to-toe with the AWP.
They called it the R8 -- we called it the Revolvo.

You can do it yourself by editing some some stuff in items_game.txt file in csgo folder. It's safe, you won't get vac banned but you can only play offline against bots. If you try to join mm or faceit, the game will just kick you to verify game files and rejoin

Crouch behind car on d2 long and just spam it through the window once they push and you will recieve a handful of comments on your steam profile talkin smack about your great grandfather

R8 is still pretty good actually for what it is, i use it on CT side instead of the deagle, it's accurate af and can rival the deagle if you play it right. Bodyshots aren't optimal and the shot inaccuracy is significantly better which rewards good aim tracking or a good prefire.

​@@Robin-Paul Playing at a distance is a lot less consistent with the Five-Seven which is most spots i play. And if i am going to play close up I'll probably go for either the 5-7 or a P250 if buying an MP9 is not an option.

​@@Robin-Paul Bringing 5-7 in a discussion on R8 is not exactly good comparison. 5-7 will take 5-7 proper shots to kill a guy (pun intended) whereas we're looking at 1-2 with deag and R8. I've seen stattrak R8 trolls with 20,000+ kills too. Although, its long trigger makes it useless for me. I think if you can master the dual berettas spray, (its like AK somewhat, top to down), it can be great, although its a bit useless at the far end.

I played it during that 48hr. It was the most funniest games i've played of CS:GO ever! After the first round, EVERYONE just bought the R8 and it was literally Team Death Match. You're not awping mid, you're pistolling mid. It was a memorable experience. After that, they nerfed it so bad, that everyone was like "Meh, it was fun while it lasted"

The best part of the revolver update you didn't even touch on is that there was an exploit where, by holding right click and tapping left click, the full delay animation would play and lock the hammer back. This meant as long as you held right click that for your first shot upon encountering an enemy you would have an INSTANT, perfectly accurate, one shot kill left click shot.

It could be cool if the alt fire instead cocked the hammer. Then you just increase the base pull speed to make it worth while. That way, you can have a distinct difference between the R8 and the Deagle, with the R8 being better at sharpshooting and the Deagle being better at firefights.

By “bigger round”, im assuming you re comparing the r8 to the deagle . If that’s the case, you re flat out wrong as the r8’s 357 magnum’s kinetic energy is only 800 ft lbs at max, which is half of deagle’s 50 ae’s kinetic energy at 1600 ft lbs maxium. Despite those numbers, any piece of body armor worth its salt should be able to stop these 2 catridges with ease.

Not liking the video because some important details were missed: -R8 has an alt-fire where you shoot instantly -If you activated alt-fire and regular shot at the same time, you would get the accuracy of the regular shot (which was bonkers) with the instantaneous shot, which was making the gun even more broken than it was initially. That bug was fixed after the hotfix patch as well.

Even now, in 2023, the R8 is a lot better than people give it credit for. It's incredibly accurate even while moving full tilt and ALWAYS kills in two shots to the body (or 1 to the head obviously). Honestly if it got a buff to it's alternate fires spread or even got another 8 rounds of auxiliary ammo I would probably use it over the deagle, but the deagle is a classic so I still run it.
