The lead singer is Paul Weller he's massive here in the UK and has been since the late 70's starting with the Jam going on to the Style Council and has had and is still having a massive solo career.

Hi Lulu,another cure for hiccups is a teaspoonful of peanut butter, as it makes you regulate your breathing. Great review of a truly great track that is 40 years old this year! Indeed the singer Paul Weller is about to release his 17th studio album in May when he will reach his 66th Birthday! As you enjoyed this song, I would recommend two tracks for you to listen to from The Style Council’s a’ Paris ep. They are Long Hot Summer and Paris Match, though only the first track has an official video. Keep up the great work and I hope the hiccups are now gone 😊❤

Paul Weller has put out some incredible music since the late 1970’s and is continuing to do so now. Check out “Town Called Malice” to hear a really great song from his previous band, The Jam.

Great remedy for hiccups: take the deepest breath you can and, as slowly as possible, blow out til there's no air left. If you can get to the end without hiccuping, that should be it. If not, repeat. It usually sorts it out first time. I had to do it twice once.

Sadly none of Paul's bands made it in the USA, although they always went down well there. Except when The Jam supported Blue Oyster Cult in the U.S. in 1977. The Style Council were very good when compared to other bands from the mid 1980's I think?
