Morning , we have late loadshedding this whole week, hopefully we get a better schedule next week
@racedynamix11 ай бұрын
Hi Doug. That must be a nightmare to live with. See you soon 👍
@douglang461511 ай бұрын
@@racedynamix definitely not easy . The weeks that we have in the whole evening . Just cancels out life . Diesel or petrol for generators becomes too expensive to run 6 hrs a nite . Or even 4 hrs . And our laws say they have to turn off at 10 So it's a challenge.

Hello Duncan I've got a stock wrx blobeye and doing a 6 speed sti swap and I would like to get the most power out the engine but I would like it to be reliable power. I would like about 370bhp is that safe power?
@PaulOakleyWrx11 ай бұрын
I got a 2010 2.5 wrx, its my 5th impreza and 1st 1 to give us problems, running fine now, was going for aos, but the mechanic i use has told me its a absolute waste of time and money until running 350bhp or more

I will be doing a full in depth vid on these soon 👍

Sorry for unrelated question, but can you comment on this "boxer shake" at idle that people talk about. Do all H4-s really vibrate/shake noticeably at idle? Personally I have not come across a shaky Subaru (other than my own, which I think might have an issue).
@jeff666p11 ай бұрын
Mine also shakes at idle
@racedynamix11 ай бұрын
Are you talking about EJ engines? Because of the horizontal set up, there is always some small movement but excessive shake can be valve seat related or engine mount or a fueling issue.

I had my car mapped by yourself many years ago. We agreed for me to go away and put some miles on the car as engine was fresh and my old fuel pump and coils showed signs of tiring. It made 269 I think on 1 bar boost. My question is do I need to return car to you for another session to turn boost up or can I do myself? Car still running td05. I've only changed exhaust manifold from equal length to unequal after you advised and obviously done new Walbro pump and newage coil conversion. Not quite put the miles on it I want yet but I don't like leaving things half done
@racedynamix11 ай бұрын
Hi.. Yeah it will need to come back for adjustment as turning the boost up will go to cells in the map that haven't been set up. Also changing the headers changes a lot of how the combustion happens and Afr

Glad you said the same on aos Duncan... street car, not worth it, thats both you and my mechanic

High tuned street car I think it's a good idea or worth it money wise. Never a bad idea though 👍

@@racedynamix My Forester STI had allot of blowby and some smoke after tuning (1.2 bar boost), and also before some oil in the intercooler. But after the AOS completely solved it. Also ran the car on track so was definitely not a bad idea.

Hi Duncan sorry I missed the stream, but I have a question! my car is due its first ever cambelt change next year it’s just clocked 30k do I need to change the water pump at the same time? On older sti’s ive had I’ve always changed the water pump and the thermostat but I know the original pumps are best and damn expensive so I don’t want to do it unless I have to lol, thanks in advance

Yeah.. Difficult one. I would personally but I can understand why some wouldn't

@@racedynamix thanks Duncan, I’ve heard people say leave the standard one on there till it dies unless you buy another genuine one as the aftermarket ones don’t last

If it is just the pipe that is different it shouldn't need a retune if it was okay before.. But would be worth checking Afr and for detonation just in case

Hi Duncan I have Foz SG9FOZ 06. Cani buy a new jdm EJ 2.5. Short motor. Considering forge. Thanks

The jdm short motor is actually 2.0 litre. There is a ej257 RA version which is stronger than the std ej257 in yours (and mine). This is available in the UK 👍
