At the Cannes festival one of the questions focused on how a gender swapped version of this film would involve an “Aging Athlete” (traditionally male) and the Substance would be a metaphor for steroid use. A few also notes this is probably why the referred person was a male character, to outline the overarching theme of aging

This movie was crazy. Really liked it! If you want to checkout more French directors, I would higly suggest Alain Resnais. Last Year at Marienbad is my favorite of his

Querida, o público médio do cinema em geral é burro demais, os filmes agora tem que ser o mais óbvio possível. Se não acontece com eles, o que aconteceu com os filmes Matrix, Clube da Luta, Coringa 1... Que foram apropriados pelos ressentidos do sistema capitalista. Em tempos estranhos, dizer o óbvio é uma necessidade.
