The Subway in Zion National Park is one of the best hikes in all of Utah, and is one of the most difficult hikes to receive permits for. Permits are required, but if you were lucky enough to snag one, this video serves as both a hiking guide and photography guide.
To get permits for the Subway, visit this link: www.nps.gov/zi...

I enjoyed your sharing the Subway with your viewers and me. Thank you for reminding me to bring my CPL filters. Have you tried using a ten stop ND filter to make really long exposures and very silky water? I'm glad I discovered your channel!

Thanks for watching! I have used a 10-stop, but I really don’t like the way it makes the water look too smooth and boring. I don’t ever really use an ND filter for water as I think 0.5-1 second is the best shutter speed for water in most cases.

Great video. What time did you start and how long did it take you to get to the entrance?

I started at 6am, and it took me about 2.5 hours to get all the way there. But for most people, it takes much longer. Most people I was talking to were taking 4-6 hours to get there, and then about the same on the way back.

This is such an informative video. I really appreciate you showing the hike and the scenery as well as giving photography tips. I don't think I'll ever be good enough shape to hike this so it was nice to see it. I will use those photography tips, though.

@@AustinJamesJackson I also meant to say your photos are gorgeous! I got caught up in the fact that you showed this lovely hike that I forgot to tell you that. I would love if you would do more videos like this where you show off the scenery to those of us who will never be able to make the trek and add photography tips.

Nice video! This is great information for those that haven't been there before. It's nice to see what it looks like in the spring as I've hiked it in the fall. It's really slippery, I've seen people fall down. Great hike for sure. Thanks for sharing!

Well done video and great info for those who need it. The heavy water flow gives it an entirely different look than my November trip.
