This is solid information on how to take advantage of low hanging fruit when marketing. It's even easier when you have an outreach template you can use!

I have been a home inspector for over 4 months. I went to realtor offices and advertise my services. I have gotten one phone call. The realtors said they use the same home inspectors for years. The housing market is very slow to. I am now studying for a new career. Don't waste your time becoming a home inspector!

New inspector here. I've been licensed for about two months now and I've only done 4 inspections. I'm in a thriving real estate market but I'm just having trouble getting my hat in the ring so to speak. Any advice from guys who have made it through the start up process?

@DeadlyButSilent2 I grew a successful business, was doing 8-12 inspections a week, but got tired of dealing with frivolous claims and people trying to milk a few dollars our of me. I let it go last spring and I'm an industrial supply salesman now. My customers are happy to see me and no one ever threatens to sue me for doing my job.

@DeadlyButSilent2 Well, some people have more tolerance for it. I still have friends in home inspection and they take the complaints in stride. I just got to a point where I was sick of dealing with those type of people. And I was doing a thorough inspection within the standards of practice- to the point that I made some realtors mad for being a "deal killer". So it's not like I was doing sloppy inspections and missing things I could've caught. Some people in this world just can't accept responsibility for their own problems and be content to earn an honest living. They'd rather whine and take from others. Doing home inspection was the best way to expose those types. But hey, to each their own. I'm happy in my new career and I hope others have a better experience than I did.
