Kinda late to the party, but you can actually survive all 3 nights if you waste no time running to the exit. Night 1: If you reach the main hall in time, Walter finds you and says the stereotypical "You look like you've seen a ghost." Night 2: If you run straight away to the exit once the ghosts appear, Walter finds you outside and chews you out for leaving early. Night 3: Once you leave your "room", the Chase is timed, you must rush to the exit immediately.

This is definitely one of the better indie pixel-horror titles out there. They did a great job of establishing the cyclic nature of the house's MO, as well as giving a proper explanation as to why they didn't just straight-up demolish the place (freaking awful neighborhood, no one is going to build there, and no one wants to foot the bill for the teardown... A tale as old as impotent/ulterior political declarations of civil/social altruism -like how they're "going to clean up this town." As simple and uncomplicated as the plot might be, it's actually pretty reasonable, it doesn't grate relentlessly across trope nerves, and most importantly it's not "kiddy-horror" starring yet another "scary mascot." I give it a B+, because it's not only decent, but it doesn't wear out its' welcome.

You know what's crazy about games like this and Faith are? They show that developers can easily make good looking (even scary) games using little resources. It makes me think that most early game developers were just kind of lazy. I hated the Atari because everything was just colored blocks. Some of the homebrew developers out there have managed to push some really amazing looking games for the 2600 since.

Not at all, oldschool developers were harder working arguably than today not counting the specific shovelware titles that the Atari was known for. The "modern retro" game is using new game engines, tools and knowledge that didn't exist back then and ironically a game like this wouldn't run well on a 90's era computer that could run say, Unreal 2 a obviously graphically superior game. Same as all these PS1 style games wouldn't run on a PS1 as what's under the hood and subtleties in programming is a lot different. The best way to describe it is (aside from modern game engines being much more advanced) that old developers were pioneers, they had no mapping resources or tools to build a city they just had a giant forest and mountain in front of them. The crunches they put in earlier gaming eras would've put modern crunches to shame, and it's much easier to build a city when your electricity water and roads are built than having to start from scratch.

Kind of a cool aesthetic. Wouldn't be surprised if Faith was any inspiration. Though it could've done with a bit more thought behind its setting/plot. This kind of just felt like "Oh let's make a horror game about... uh... horror things...". Security job? Check. Night shift? Check. Creepy house? Check. Murder basement? Check. It's like a spooky campfire story someone made up on the fly.
