really love the style of these first videos! I'd love to see a video of your reaction watching these 3 years later!

I love your definition of celebrating! Also wow, I kind of miss those single lane bridges, but back then I was in the back seat. Dad was always white knuckled on the ones with embedded tracks... Probably because, y'know, trains.

Great vlogs. Brought back memories of my 6 months on a bike there in 97. The end of this one had me in stitches. :) I might have to buy another 'absolutely nothing' from you again just for that laugh.

Hi James, looking at the rocks and ice lumps passing under the bridge at Franz Joseph Glacier I think the greenish ones were infact boulders of JADE or Poanamu (greenstone) as it's called in NZ. There are massive seams of it all through the Southern Alps, but it is all owned by Ngai Tahu, the predominent Maori tribe in the south. I dare say you could have lifted a peeble or two, but you need a permit and license from Ngai Tahu to mine anything large, and a govt export permit for Poanamu in the raw. Just saying...

We stopped overnight in Greymouth when we went to NZ in 2007. It rained. A lot. Probably the same rain you had. 😂

did you guys stay in free camping spots while driving around the south island?
@JamesPopsysPhoto7 жыл бұрын
+Conor & Nicole From memory free spots were harder to find in the South Island, but there are plenty of cheap DOC grounds! 👌🏼

I'd forgotten that i hadn't watched all the NZ vids. Jason Lanier will have to wait a bit longer. Jeez, that some walking! You'd do well over here in the Parish Walk with all that training (yeah, I know, this is almost a year old). Some rain though. I have a mate in NZ, I'm surprised you didn't bump into him. One thumbs down. Probably the Dog Poo Fairy.
