The Sun | Science for Kids

Hello everyone. Today we are going to learn about the sun.
The Sun is an ordinary star that was born 4.6 billion years ago. At its core, the temperature is unimaginable: some 15 million degrees Celcius. The heat and light it produces escape into space, providing us with light and warmth.
The sun is 745 times heavier than all the surrounding planets put together! And these revolve around it, attracted by its immense mass...
The sun is our nearest star. It does not look like other stars because it is so much closer to us. Most stars are so far away they look like points of light in the sky.
The sun is not solid like the Earth, but it is a giant ball of gas, so hot that they glow like the flames of a bonfire.
