One of the greatest bands ever. I saw them live in Santa Fe sometime in the 90s, i can't remember exactly when. But it was like living in a dream.

Why do people in KZbin's comment section constantly exaggerate everything.
@itsROMPERS...6 ай бұрын
@@BalboaBaggins That's a good question, I think people just want to make an impression. But I'm not exaggerating in this comment, I remember it like it was yesterday. It was like a dream. If course arguably every minute in New Mexico is like living in a dream. Plus, whenever I listen to any of their songs I think the same thing: This is one of the most brilliant things I've ever heard, every detail of everything just seems so uniquely crafted. I could detail why I feel like this, but it would be probably thousands of words. Even the best musicians rarely get every single detail of everything so transcendently right as the Sundays did. How they did it I don't know, they seem like very ordinary people. I do exaggerate like everyone else, but in this case, I'm not.

@@BalboaBagginslmaoooo the explanation isnt really that deep. They simply just love the artists and this is the way they express their appreciation

I remember seeing this when it came out..and Dave's "pretty" line and Harriet's reaction being so cute to his little cheeky dig.

My college years in Manila were not complete without The Sundays playing in my car. Now im 52, living in America. Still listening to it driving to work and going home. It's so nice to reminisce all the people I met in my college years.

Great band. I hope they release a box set of their albums + the rare material soon. They reissued the three records on vinyl a few years ago, but they're getting pricey.

The cute thing is that David and Harriet met in university and was dating when they started writing music. The reason why they stopped (went on hiatus), was because they wanted to start a family together and I think they’re still together today.

Harriet has a far rougher accent that I remembered, lol. She sounds like she works at the local chip shop.
@arrow47496 ай бұрын
her accent sort of refined itself over the years, in the '97 shows she sounds posher i think

Excellent. Luckily for me Harriet lives round the corner , and I see her in our local Sainsburys. I'm not a weirdo though so never try to speak to her..

That's good news. Great to think they're around and likely very happy in their personal lives.

Was meant to add, it'd be a bit odd for a lot of fans as they've been away from the public eye nearly 3 decades. A lot older now and also wonder how sharp they still remain on their completed material. I believe they've kept writing but still, different in your own space vs public. Personally I don't ever see a return. Been too many years gone, and David was always so sceptical of fame and comprising their values and personas. Even harder when your partner is in the band and you have a family together. Good on you for keeping your distance mate. Wouldn't be intrusive or rude at all to say hello but sometimes good enough knowing an artist you admire is well.

If you just look at them and listen to the accent without paying attention to what they say, it sounds like they might beat your ass if you don’t like their music.

This is the second video I've seen where they got the song title wrong, as well. It's not "This is where...."; it's "Here's where...."!

Haha! The narrator truly doesn't know this band or simply reflects how early in the Sundays' career that this music interview was done. The narrator mispronounces David GAVURIN as "Garuvin" at 1:19 and at 2:09 he mistakes the title of their single "THIS is where the story ends" (should be HERE'S)

@@itsROMPERS... It even sounded like Dave Caravan.
@itsROMPERS...6 ай бұрын
@@BalboaBaggins I know. But how can you be a music journalist and not even get the name close? He didn't just mispronounce it, he transposed letters. Even if he said "Gavaran" it would be wrong, but at least the letters would be in the right order! He might as well call the lead singer of U2 "Nobo".
