Let's say they use those 2nd Rd picks at the deadline this year, 2024(Sas), 2028(Bos), along with someone who's not fitting to bring in a more needed rotation piece. Then eventually trade Ayton next offseason and hopefully get good value in return, (like a cheaper center and a 1st rounder or abunch of 2nd's..) especially if Booker comes back with a new contract. Which leaves them with.. 2024 late 1st Rd swap 2024 2nd Rd pick (Den) 2025 1st Rd pick??? (Ayton trade) 2026 late 1dt Rd swap 2026 2nd Rd pick (Det, Mil or Orl) 2028 late first Rd swap 2028 2nd Rd pick (Mem) 2029 2nd Rd pick (Mem) And possibly having Booker, Beal and Durant together for at least 3 years..Beal and Duran could retire there, or trade them in the last year of their contracts. Really doesn't look bad how you look at it and honestly the Sun's have a pretty good window to win a championship, if they're able to resign Booker of course and get rid of Ayton's 30 mil. F Toumani Camara and PG Jordan Goodwin look good in the summer league and could be part of the future or become assets. I know he was before your time, but I remind everyone about Ted Stepien, the awful owner of my Cavs 40+ years ago, and the reason for the "Stepien rule." The NBA might have to institute a new rule to again save teams from themselves. We'll see how this fleshes out...

They didn’t outsmart anyone. They’re trying the outdated big 3 thing. Typical new owner syndrome.

Right? I love this channel but he brings up the KG/Pierce Nets and Harden Nets like they were dynasties…neither one even won a title after trading so many future assets for aging stars just like the suns

I agree that it is a high stakes game. Time will tell if Phoenix has outsmarted anyone or if they look dumb as hell for doing this. The more pressing decision this season is does Beal or Booker start at PG and which one is the SG. Both are good passers and ball handlers. But neither of them are a true PG. At least to this point in their careers. Chris Paul was that. A true floor general. He may not have the physical gifts he had a few years ago, but he still is a smart, highly skilled pg with great decision making skills and the ability to pass to people in really tough situations. The Warriors have a really smart addition to their locker room. But with the Suns....they have some decisions to be made how they want that starting lineup to work. I do think with how much they were restricted by being top heavy, that they did make some good minimum contract signings. But they don't have a lot of balance to take care of the team if anyone gets injured. That trade exception, will probably be very valuable to them this season.
@86puffpuff86 Жыл бұрын
un guessing ur not a suns fan. the suns have ALWAYS had a very solid true PG. kevin johnson, nash, kidd, even cp3 in there...... we are still waiting on a championship. we can try less of a positional team,

Phoenix are taking major risks since Matt Ishbia took over the team back in February. They are too heavy on offense with their starters. Granted they managed to squeeze in a bench. Essentially, I don’t think the moves will be enough when the playoffs come back around in 24. The lack of quality defense will be their downfall
@victorcardiel1444 Жыл бұрын
Lol the suns were a top 7 defense last year and now they added a defensive maestro in vogel and younger longer bigger pieces why do you feel that their defense is gonna be so subpar?
@MegaGiants89 Жыл бұрын
Josh Okogie, Bates-Diop, Eubanks, Camara, Lee, and Goodwin are all solid defenders. The Suns have enough to win a Championship. The Suns were #7th in Defense last season even though most of that was before the KD trade.

People are missing the point. Either you are going all out or go full rebuild. There is no in between. Why? Because if you spend a decade being just a mid team, you have to ask yourselves: Are you going all out or scrap it and go rebuild? You don’t want to spend 10 years and still be mid. You want to spend those 10 years either rebuilding or contending. There is no in between. You can’t be mid. While a team is so mid, you have teams rebuilding and there’s a chance in the next 5 years they will start to compete. It’s a pendulum swing. Those are rebuilding will be contending and those are contending will be forced to rebuild. You can’t be in the middle. You are wasting your time.

The problem with the Suns is they have only a season or two to jell and become a team to win a championship... Thats goong to be significantly harder because you have to figure out the dynamics between beal and booker. Honestly I think the Suns will be a second round exit at best. We seen this show with the Nets , Irving , Durant and Harden couldnt get done ... And this team seems like seems like Nets 2.0 with bigger issues

Nets couldn't get it done because of injuries. KD, Harden, Kyrie only played 16 games together and went 13-3...injuries, Kyrie not taking the covid shot, and Harden leaving mid-season is what killed the Nets.

you always have these super successfull businessmen buying franchises and basically make their franchise horrible for at least 5-8 years after 2 seasons. youd think a businessman would have something like....a longterm vision? i mean this isnt as bad as the nets, but it will be up there i think edit: i mean the retirementclub nets

Suns are playing chess when everyone is playing checkers, they built the best team in basketball in 5 months with a new owner. If it doesn’t work then you blow up the team like any team would in the situation, if it works then great why not go all in if it doesn’t work and they blow up the team anyways people act like they can’t get 7-10 first rounds picks to rebuild the team dealing KD, DA, Beal and Book. There is no risk and nothing to loose you either win and it’s worth it or you blow the team up and if you blow the team up you can get a haul of picks for the starters on the team alone.

Its because of Ishbia that more than 2 million households in Arizona can now watch Suns games for free once the season starts. Dont care what you think about him. He's been the best thing that has happened to this franchise since Jerry Colangelo

Any suns fan, are you a fan of this move(s) I mean some owner even didn't want to do anything to the team, compared to this, which one?
@victorcardiel1444 Жыл бұрын
I am a fan of what they did the suns have played it safe for the last 55 years we've got zero titles to show for it the minute they traded for kd that was it its time to go all in. As for the so called suns gonna suck a long time not really they have picks besides how many young developing players do you want on a team like this? Second if in 3 years time it doesn't work and there really that horrible they can easily trade booker or ayton or both and completely replenish their talent and first rounds picks this is not like when the nets traded for Paul pierce garnett lol suns still have 2 young very good pieces who will be in there prime when that time comes
