If a ball python or any other snake in the wild lays 12 eggs how many will survive. if a ball python or any other snake in captivity lays 12 eggs how many will survive. OMFG i was just using a RANDOM number!!!!!!! NEVERMIND people it was A simple question

This question is basically impossible to answer. 12 eggs is a lot but possible for a ball python, but for some other snake types it would be unusually few, while for some it would be impossibly many. Then, are you counting slugs as eggs? What about empty eggs which have no veins when candled? Both of those types are not alive when laid so there's no possibility for them to survive. Once you exclude all that, then in the wild something might eat the eggs, or bad weather might kill the whole clutch. 12 eggs would probably be too many for a wild female to curl around, and any that aren't under her are more vulnerable to the weather. In captivity, incubation conditions vary a lot from breeder to breeder, inbreeding level varies a lot from clutch to clutch, and some genes seem to increase the chance of kinking, which is one of the main causes for an egg that makes it to hatching to not survive hatching or be unable to eat after hatching.

Most definitely the Volta ball pythons will be able to get that many eggs layed ...they are known for that many if not EVEN MORE UP TO 20_50 EGGS LAID.

Don't buy the cabinet incubator to hatch ball python eggs. The bottom tends to stay cooler then the top and the eggs at the bottom will not form correctly. I had 3 tubs in mine, and the ones at the bottom didn't make it, the ones in the middle took longer and the ones at the top were perfect. This $200 cooler cost me $1000 in dead snakes. 2 BELs and a Mystic potion
