Personally it was a perfect adaption, this movie was something that for me should've started a mario cinematic universe, and it did also pretty well I do agree how it was a really fast movie, and it could've been a little slower, but for me there are very low complains but I prefer talking of what I liked actually: 1) the action and animations was straight up fire 2) as an Italian I'm happy they didn't just stereotyped Italy for 1 hour straight 3) everything that happened didn't feel too random, it were all things that made sense in some way, like I can imagine mario meeting peach that way, I can imagine mario and donkey Kong being kind of enemies, it were all things that I believed could happen in this movie 4) outside of not Mario music, all the OSTS for the film were godly, all niche references to the mario soundtrack 5) even if the film was similar to a classic child movie, personally it wasn't that much of a big deal, as all of us love mario cause we grew up with him, so giving me the same sensations of when I was a child, was definitely something I liked 6) and lastly how they handled the power ups was so good So yeah for me a 9/10 a perfect adaptation with little flaws

I loved the movie, I thought it was a 9/10. The only thing that bothers me is Luigi not getting that much screen time and the amount of licensed music they used throughout the movie. Seth Rogan Donkey Kong and Jack Black Bowser were huge highlights for me

This movie was just so much fun to watch with me and my friends it didn’t matter that objectively it wasn’t a great movie, we just got super hyped anytime a theme kicked in and laughed our asses off just because it’s the Mario cast doing their thing, it’s not a movie to take seriously

I really love mario and i love the movie a lot, but i appreciate your opinion, its clearly not meant for everybody, it was aimed more at children and it shows, since i felt too that everything perhaps was going a bit too fast, but the animation, the humor and the voice acting (the one here in italy) were all amazing, qnd i think the main reason why it felt so fast and rushed, was because nintendo wanted to tell a much bigger story, but because the standard of length for kids movies its very below average, and they wanted kids to watch it, they had to make it 1 hour and 30 minutes long, since thats just how animated movies meant for kids do, and even the music, even if it wasnt the official ones, i loved the remixes, there were some nice bangers, especially when donkey kong hopped on screen and the DK rap started to pop

I’m happy I’m not alone like Nintendo being Nintendo had to Chuck in like 1000 Nintendo references and it kinda got boring. Especially like you said how fast it felt there was just never any story development and then suddenly bowsers defeated. Personally it should of been a 2 hour long movie because honestly it’s a great time period for kids seeming as kids get bored quick it stuff is too long 😂. But anyway I would give it a 6 or a 7 I still like the first sonic move though 😂

I think chris pratt did good, charlie day just fit, keegan and jack nailed it and anya taylor was cool as well. But I would’ve liked the overall movie better if we got to just vibe with characters, less montages and more actual character time. Especially Luigi being locked in a cage for the entire movie that really sucked. So yeh not as good as Sonic or detective Pikachu but not as bad as Mortal Kombat 2021 either
