Is frustrating as didn't expect it to stop and appear half dead for no reason. Glad it's still under warranty else could be worse. My old 1 never missed a beat with over 1000 miles on it. Thank you I hope so too. Same mate happy new year!

I've got a 30h error. I swear I loved this thing but it went 1,000 miles before the controller fried. Now it's got 130miles on the new controller and it's not working again.

My original Surron battery freaked out for no apparent reason. It was a bad BMS but luckily it was under warranty. The new one worked fine but I sold it when I got the Litespeed battery. I’m surprised that you had an issue with this newer model. Good luck and I hope they take care of you mate. Cheers!

My first didn't miss a beat, but same I was surprised they told me newer battery had improvements and overall better than the 2019 lol, just never know it's luck. Hopefully it won't take long, never sure though in these strange times. Thank you

By time you built the stealth you won't save much. I prefer a mid drive for off road stuff. I think cheap tho if compared to a mtb mate

@@crf250rider9 totally different bike unless on road though as hubs don't like water and jumps. Great bikes though for price. Yeh that won't be cheap to build, wish I could build them as its batteries that hold back future projects trying to find a competent battery builder is difficult.

thats weird how annoying ! if there is a repair team in the UK they will probably know exactly whats wrong with it immediately. It sounds like some sort of feedback system is not working properly or maybe the cells are out of balance ? usually if the BMS trips from overcurrent which could happen if theres a fault with the ESC or motor, the power would just cut out and there would be no lights on or nothing, same thing would happen with low voltage cutout, which you've probably experienced before on that bike ? sur ron could be using its own electronic setup which is non standard though which is the problem. Only thing you can do is look for loose or corroded connections, check the batterys real voltage with a multimeter, look for damage inside the electronic boards etc. I think a lot of people are going to have similar problems with their electric cars which have massive main circuitboard computers inside them.

I'm not allowed to split battery else warranty invalid as I would like to look. If not covered that would be best and only option, try myself. You got some points it would give out any power if bms cut in. Hopefully shop can tell me but doubt it they probably send it away abroad I hear. You know more than me, weird as was fine last ride and put away normal in nice warm room, battery another warm space. Was so up for a ride on, annoyed me but least now rather than when warranty elapsed. You think cars will sufer these problems? Surely not.. electric cars cost a fortune for a tiny thing

Low voltage cut out, only when I've run battery completely flat, never noticed anything otherwise. Sometimes if these batteries are run flat battery needs a jump start to charge, certain procedure to follow with charger, luckily never happened to me yet.

@@motomachinezuk8786 I have heard of that happening yeah when its too low that it won't charge, can't remember why it does that though, maybe something to do with BMS not having enough voltage to switch on, same problem on my mobility scooter at the moment, I left it outdoors for months. I doubt thats whats happening with your sur ron though. Did you manage to go out on the mountain bike instead ? And yeah I think electric cars going to be hard to repair and cost lots of money, there was this guy that blew up their Tesla on purpose because its battery broke, something about a coolant line got knocked off on the underside of the car, they wanted 20 thousand dollars to fix it so he just blew up the entire car instead.

I've got a question that I just have a good answer for. When you go to charge the battery, is it proper to just park the bike and plug the charger into the side port on the battery? Is it proper to lift up the top black battery top that needs the key the flip the circuit off, then plug in charger and turn on? I think I saw somewhere that the recommendation is the 2nd option. Are we doing possible damage to the battery by the first option? What if there's a power surge/spike in the outside electricity? Are these and other things that could lead to unforeseen damage of critical parts?

Mm I'm not sure if causing unforeseen damage. I got the impression flicking the trip out prevents power surge going past the battery. To be honest I always turn the breaker off after I've ridden and remove battery for security reasons then charge off bike more often than not. Another thing I leave charger plugged in when u dissconect from bike to prevent a spark, never had a spark myself but I've heard a few people have

@@motomachinezuk8786 when I first got mine Dec 2021 I flipped the breaker off, plugged my poersuply/charger into the wall then I inserted the charging cable into the battery. At first I would pull out the battery too but by doing that a few times I could see that process would add to the outside of the battery case seeing more wear as mine is a very tight fit. Then this is when I started just charging with the battery left in the bike where I wouldn't lift up the top cover and flip the circuit off. Just removed the key and after plugging in the charger into the wall, then just inserted to power cord and off charging. I'm wondering if it's highly advisable by the people who make the sur ron or by people who's profession is lipo batteries and electronic speed controllers where their advice is flip the circuit off before charging. Just seeing what your thoughts were. I don't have the perfect answer yet. I will likely try emailing Luna Cycles who sold me the bike and they are authorized to do repairs. I'll see what they recommend.

Hey Mate I'd recommend charging the battery with the breaker turned off and battery in the bike for ease of use. The charger will turn off if the breaker is on and the key is turned to the on position Only real need to take the battery out is when washing or transportation purposes Voltage spikes or surges from grid charging would generally damage the charger not the battery due the protection circuits both in the BMS and charger. @@progressive_e I agree. I stopped taking the battery out.and I will be flipping the breaker off when plugged in. We have power interruption from time to time out of the blue and that's when dangerous surges can happen. I can definitely see that being a problem for the esc.

I'm in Daventry just the other side of banbury we've got a few good riding spots. there's four of us that have sur rons in are gang and your more than welcome when your bike is fixed 👍

Man just read this. I'm up coz I can't sleep as my new one turns up in the morning. I have read that after you turn off its good practice to turn breaker off then your key back on to discharge any residual power. Maybe that's good practice. I've had a bms fail just like your symptoms and error code in a EUC. Man I hope you get a result shame you don't have anyone close to try a different battery.

That would have helped to try another battery but yeh noone close. I do that with the key to drain all power so none is stored. I heard it helps doing that so done since then. Lol hopefully you got delivery of new bike ?

how cold is your battery? could be a bms safety issue. I reckon if you had brought it into your house for 24 hours, and it'd be ok.

@@motomachinezuk8786 yes I’ve tried all that and my speedometer at one time did say 50mph max then I pressed the red button and now that’s fixed but it’s been acting up for a while and just recently got really bad to where it moves like 1 foot then turns off

Yes was repaired under warranty. Well I actually had a new replacement battery as old one had a problem.

I’ve just got a problem on a brand new 2023 I’ve had a few rides and it’s only got 40 miles and it’s now not Reaching the top speed Peak it hits the 30mph Eco Mode Limit on Sports Mode aswell has anyone got any ideas what it could be I’ve did nothing to it and haven’t cut any wires or washed it or anything I just went out today and tried to put it in sport and doesn’t event lift the wheel feels like the power has just disappeared some how?

Sorted it yet ? Could be a damp connection. Best thing is stick the diagnosis cable on and see what it says. Could be a number of things from guessing mate

Thanks I’ve sorted it the wires was completely Cut / Split somehow and had to fit a new Speed and Eco button into the bike runs perfect again cheers was probably just off turning the handle bars to far and to fast round but bought some covers for the wires now hopefully do the trick and they last 😊

Yes it's had a new battery put on, they can't tell me what the problem with it was. They send abroad to be repaired. Good news though all i need to do now is collect it.
