"Walk Don't Run" was originally recorded by Johnny Smith in 1954. Released by The Ventures in 1960.

Fantastic. Born 1958 and I am still playing drums. I would get so excited at times, I would play a faster tempo for the parts that shook me. It works really well if the band knows, like you all do. Love your work.

Sam Maloney already played some gigs with the Surfrajettes in the end of 2017, before Anna Liebel joint. She certainly looks different now and has made big improvements with her playing. Sarah is great. I'm a big fan. Loved her singing in the Millwinders. What happened to the Millwinders? They seem to have been active until around 2016/17.

@@psp66 There is some content on IG to the gigs with Sam Maloney: "We had a blast playing alongside C&C Surf Factory, and thanks to Sam for joining us on drums, and knocking it out of the park! Couldn’t think of a better way to kick of Christmas weekend!" Yes, Sam looked different in the end of 2017. Sam is also a great guitar player. There is a video on IG of her, playing a full band cover. Her guitar part blew me away. The Millwinders called it a day some years ago. Sarah and Mark (lead guitarist in the Millwinders) now play in surf-instrumental bands. Mark Sanders in "Mark Malibu and the Wasagas" and certainly Sarah Butler in the Surfrajettes. Oh, yes. Sarah was also great playing in the Millwinders upright bass and singing. What a singing voice she has :-).

We played this song on TV at then WHTN-ABC Talent Hunt Huntington WV now WOWK now CBS back in the 60’s along with Pipe Line and of course Wipe Out, I love listening to these girls their GREAT, much better than we were, but brings back a lot of memories, we didn’t win but a girl and boy singing, I don’t remember what songs did win, they won it all and went on to sing on American Band Stand, I don’t remember there names, but every time I hear Walk Don’t Run I’m a teen again in front of those cameras, my brother also played guitar but he has passed and our drummer has passed also but when I hear these songs we’re kids again playing talent shows and High School dances. Thank you girls, I’ll be listening

They did good considering they had one hour to practice. Sarah was fine for the next gig, so no need for melding with Jeremy. FYI, when they're on the road now, you may see them with a touring (female) bassist since Sarah can't do long tours. But she's still in the band.

The Ventures played Bill Graham's Old Waldorf Club and they laid down as many of their hundreds of tunes as they could possibly squeeze into a big ol' set. The tempo was about three notches up from the record, but they were still hella clean. Bob Bogle and Nokie Edwards must have been the ones who worked on the record as only they autographed my copy of The Go-Go's "Surf, Spy" and also a pressing of The Ventures cut of that record that I got from their swag table. (I was practically the only one who bought one of those from the pile, come on people! cheaper than a well drink, ffs.) After you put out over a hundred albums, you no longer have to vamp out any extra verses of anything to pad your setlist!

Sarah missed just this one show due to illness back in June 2022. I believe it's the only time Jeremy filled in. He was at the event playing with the Manakooras. That's what makes this video rare. She played the night before. Also note that while Sarah is the permanent bassist, she can't do long tours so they have been using touring musicians during some of their recent, extensive road trips.
