There's off band kinds the that are like dippin dots, I usually get mine at grocery stores/Cub Foods, they are called itti bitz, about $1, it comes in a small container/cup. For actual dipping dots I usually just see them in amusement parts/carnivals/fairs etc, haven't seen them in grocery stores.

I only had dippin dots once because I don't think they have permanent stores in my city, only pop-up booths. and because it's not a common thing, it sells really expensively, so I only ate it once and passed by it a few times after whining at my mom (and failed to convince her to buy me it)
