That's my favorite Mark V out of all them. Favorite color. It's my dream car one day. Low mileage and show room condition and possibly from the original owner 👏👏👏

i have owned three. A white Mark IV, a gold Mark VI, and a black Mark VI. For some reason i got pulled over every weekend in the white one. (i think it was the hat i was wearing; it was a sky blue Barsolino)

Worked at my brothers body shop in the 80s. We knew a guy who had one of these. We were always doing something to it.. The big boats are the best👍👍.

Actually my friend let me show you another take on this Lincoln. In 1978, Ford was celebrating their 75th anniversary. They chose two of their vehicles to honor that. 1978 Ford Thunderbird, and yours. 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V. The base price of a 77-79 Mark V was between 15 and 17 grand. Add the 7000 Dollar Diamond Jubilee Edition package, blasted these cars north of the 20k dollars mark. This was the 1st American made car, to surpass the 20k dollar mark. 2nd, this is the first car EVER!!!! To have as an option, the Miles to empty computer. You have a nice car there bro.😢😢

About your 'fit' problem....I owned a Mark IV, a GIVENCY Mark V, & a Bill Blass Mark VI, in my youth when I was 6' 1 " & slender. I had no trouble getting in & out, AND it seemed ridiculously roomy in my 20s & 30s. Recently I bought a 1983 Mark VI in showroom like new condition-- to relive my glory days of fabulous excess... these cars were the tippy tip top of luxury cars at time, comparable to $ 90,000.00, today...basically Americas ROLLS ROYCE..I felt like a billionaire ....& NOW, I too find it oddly LOW to ground, have to bend my head to get in & it seems less roomy inside !!! Sadly, it's not the car--- I've grown a bit thicker, LOL. Parked in my garage next to my GMC SUV it looks so tiny, I can't believe people today think today's cars are smaller , MY GOD MOST SUVs are gigantic barges by comparison, but, have NO STYLE. In youth I admired dozens of cars ,now , NONE are desirable at all...they all look like melted turds...a Lexus has no more appeal than a basic model....I miss feeling unique in a car that was lusted after by 9 of 10 buyers in 1970s-1980s. In movies & TV if character was classy rich, they drove LINCOLNs, tacky rich, they drove Caddys...AMERICA once scorned foreign junkers. Times have changed...JR

On the car, the Lincoln 3,4,5 are all small in the interior, don't know exactly but I understand the Mark cars were like the sporty Lincolns. The early Mark III had the biggest interiors. I have driven them all and I love the Mark IV but I would buy the one you showed in a heartbeat. Now if you want a Lincoln with spacious interiors then look at the Town Car. Those were and are huge inside and out. I rented one in 1997 to bring my family around in when my Mom died. Just a gorgeous car and super comfortable. I've owned over 100 cars and only one Lincoln, most were Chevy Impalas from 59 to 68's

This is a rare Lincoln and when new it sold for 2X the price of a regular Mark V. This was the most expensive American car sold in 1978.

It's a very comfortable ride if you can afford the gas. If it is just more space you want find a set of Lear Siegler mustang Cobra seats. 9 way power direct bolt and plug in. Leaves enough room to land a light aircraft in there. I built a 79 Ranchero GT Brougham Diamond Jubilee Edition by sacraficing a T-bird. The entire dash, every option, carpet, lighting, and Cobra seats. Everything was plug and play.

I love all three of my Mark Vs. the gas mileage does hurt, but the wife and I take them to car shows and ice cream hops. I fill em every three months

I applaud your appreciation for this car. However, you are the 2nd person on KZbin with misinformation re: the Opera Window Script ! For the record, the i , in the Diamond Jubilee Edition script, is dotted with a " simulated diamond chip" ( it is not a real diamond ). If it were, this car would have sold for $25k, on top of the retail price in 1978 of around $24,000, and would have been subject to massive theft, for the Opera Windows.

There was one of those for sale local to me in UK many years ago. I said I'd buy it, wife went BALLISTIC. Pink on the top ones and purple on the lower, wrapping is a good idea, but those colours, you just know I'm joking.

Late 90s my Toyota pu blew up....being broke and a friend had a 76 caddy Fleetwood with a BB sitting under a car port for 500$ I sported that gas guzzler for 6 months and sold it for 800$ it loved 80mph .. floated like a cloud..enjoy it for a while

@jwjr2197 If it was my Toyota, I would've been happy it happened, even if secretly (never have cared much for foreign makes). I'd have GLADLY taken that '76 Cadillac Fleetwood (or even the Continental Mark V in this video, for example) over a foreign car (or truck) ANYDAY!
