@KaptenN4 жыл бұрын
@@AnonimusQualquer When people speak of the "good old days" they generally mean "in my childhood when I had no responsibilities", not "back when our ancestors were treading in urine". Besides, it's entirely possible for some things to become better while other things become worse. People are nostalgic for the good stuff, but I don't think anyone wants to give up on the good stuff of today. It'd be great if we could just have the good stuff from all the ages and none of the bad stuff. Negating someone reminiscing about a time when people were kinder and had bigger living spaces by saying that we now have all information at our fingertips and better healthcare is to be completely beside the point and engaging in pointless whataboutism.

I love tony so fucking much. the things he does for us to be entertained is endless! i'd say he's a national treasure but he's much more of an international icon at this point. i even realised last month, after watching endless episodes of worst jobs and time team that i grew up watching him in his show "maid marian and her merry men" on nickelodeon. protecct tony at all costs, we do not deserve him. like worm fucking stew! this living legend suffers for our joy like no other. I stan forever.

Eels should be killed by placeing the knife in the center of their head, my grandad used to tell me that all the time when we used to eat them. They can stay alive without their body for some time.

I don't think it's alive. It's just nerves still functioning after decapitation.

@@heiltotheking They bite your finger and their eyes move and they try and wriggle away, it's not a twitch like with nerves.
@heiltotheking5 жыл бұрын
@@VladTheImpalerDracul I'm pretty sure the decapitation would have to be a clean cut + quick. Like with a swift chop with a cleaver. Most instances of life after decapitation are reported after sudden trauma to the head during car accidents or let's say beheading a chicken. Hence why Mike the chicken survived. Slowly sawing through would do more tissue damage imo.
@brokenandcraked5 жыл бұрын
@@heiltotheking Mike the chicken only survived being decapitated because 1. his brain stem was still intact, so basic unconscious bodily functions, like breathing, continued. And 2. He developed a blood clot that stopped him from bleeding out.

That poor eel; slowly killed by slicing it's head off just for a documentary. Not even given a mercy kill.
@violettiger215 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree!
@heiltotheking5 жыл бұрын
I guess you never saw people kill a fish before? You don't exactly "mercy kill" a fish. You can briefly shock it but that's it. Or use the japanese method to paralyse it by wrecking the connections to the spine with a needle, but you still gotta cut through first anyway.
@violettiger215 жыл бұрын
@@heiltotheking But surely you could do it much faster than he did with that particular tool? He slowly sawed his way through it, could he not have just chopped the head off, even if he needed a different tool for it? I've never killed a fish or seen a fish killed before, I'm just thinking out loud really, it seems barbaric.
@heiltotheking5 жыл бұрын
@@violettiger21 with a meat cleaver, maybe. I've only used regular knives to kill fish and it's not as easy as it looks honestly. The bones can be tough, so is the muscle, especially in eels.

@@heiltotheking Yes I can imagine it's not easy. A good heavy meat cleaver would have been kinder (if not as historically accurate perhaps).

They still have healers here in Ireland. Still use tricks to remove warts for eg. The absolute crazy thing is it works! A man counted my husband warts, simply counting them all over his hands with a felt tip marker. We weren't allowed to thank him, he hunted us out the door. My husbands hands became itchy as he left the drive way and were completely healed by the morning. He had about 30 warts. He didn't have one afterwards!! Either it was the power of the mind or some old irish custom at play.
