From what I've heard from the gun community I wouldn't waste your money on it unless you want want it. The SVT/AVT were made to attempt to counter the American M1s. The only thing it really has over it it said it takes a detachable box mag. Even people that really really love Russian things won't hunt with one cuz they're only accurate about out to 200M. But if you live in an area where you're able to get 762 by 54R cheaply it could be a fun range toy

@@Ithrial420 they weren't made to counter American M1s they were made because the Soviets wanted better weapons to fight the Germans with, SVTs are perfectly fine weapons but since production is rushed they can have issues and be inaccurate because of improperly attached stocks and that sort of thing, it's also got a lot of fancy parts so you gotta take good care of it but if you're buying an SVT40 paying to have someone look it over and make sure everything's working right doesn't really seem like it'd be that much more of an expensive

​@@Ithrial420 that a load of BS you have heard my dude , the SVT was make cause the Soviet want a semi auto of their own not to counter the M1 Garand , the gun work fine but during 1942 - 43 when the USSR industry being transported out of the German atk which cause a fair number of issue which by mid 1944 have been addressed making SVT reliable again. There a reason the German have to copy the SVT to make the G43 consider how much the G41 is a failure

Honestly, the SVT is what the old Vepr Hunter wanted to be. It hits even harder than a Hunter with M80 while looking more stylish. Hell, the SVT might even replace the PU Mosin at this point since both cost basically the same. I also can't wait for the Soviet Larp in tarkov arena with 2 guys running Mosin, 2 PPSh and 1 with a SVT.

I haven't played much with SVT, but from the time I did - it's great fun and well rounded weapon. Glad late wipers and casuls have means of protection now/comfy weapon to run.

I like running the SVT with a 4x scope and an MP5K as secondary on woods. It rly gets the job done for me.

SVT is a nice addition, but after 15 lvl when flea market is available You can also go for Kel-Tec RFB. It has faster reload, 20 rnd mags can be bought from Peacekeeper (2 lvl of loyality is from 14 character lvl), better ergo, foregrips, muzzle accessories/silcencer and rail for optics.

rfb is just straight up worse. more expensive, more recoil even with "meta" attachments, terrible ammo until you get level 30 ish and do a bunch of shitty quests. sure you can put a scope on it but you can buy like 3 svts for the cost of that lol

I was a scav on interchange the other day. I found 2 PMCs on the OLI loading dock dead. I discovered from their dogtags that they traded. One was a level 15ish with an SVT and level 3 armor. The other had an AK-101, level 5 armor, M856a1, and a ulach. level 30 something. Timmy had teeth. I extracted with L30's armor setup and both guns. Good raid.

The fact that m80 is still locked behind level 4 and I can by 54r PS on the flea is scary. You're viable the entire wipe once you hit 15. Which is good. I agree with that. I think m80 needs to be available earlier is all.

Well m80 has like 15 guns you can use it in, 7.62x54r has like 4, and one of them is a single shot. The guns it goes in are also a lot better. Honestly, m80 shouldn't be buyable at all, except maybe through some fir barters

@@squidwardo7074 while I will concede your point of more guns and being able to build better guns I just find it illogical to sell PS while shoving m80 into the dirt. I did not find m80 to be that huge of a problem. If m80 is that big of a problem so is PS 54. More pen more damage. 2-3 taps is all it takes. Semi auto 54 PS is competitive and now we have cheap options. Isn't a SR for sure but you're also saving a ton of cash on the weapon. Basically it's meta broke man kit. SVT 20 rounds of PS and a dream. I've had a ton of fun on interchange clapping cheeks close and far. Its pretty ridiculous. I recommend giving it a spin. I will say I use a lot of semi and bolts though. Just my play style I'm no CQC Chad. One more thought I've had is the m80 change has essentially dried up the guns. You don't really see them until later in wipe. It's just going to shift to 54R as more and more give SVT and AVT a try and discover what it does for the price. They've recreated the same problem as the RFB early wipe meta they nerfed out in my mind.

i was doing unprotected but dangerous today (yes im still that behind, i have other games i like to play), and while i was finding scavs, i come across a player. i decide to prone in grass, switch the AVT to full auto, and the moment i saw him i spray and got a nice headshot. thanks to him i got pretty good gear AND was able to complete that quest. so shoutout to that guy for "willingly" giving his gear to me that ill inevitably lose from a scav head-eyesing me

What I do is just leave the scope off since the iron sights are easy to shoot with since the gun actually recoils properly unlike most other guns (see gigabeef video) then just put the scope on if I happen to spot a player at long range

The AVT is basically the appetizer for the M14 before Nikita eventually adds it into the game. And if the AVT kicks this hard, just imagine how much of a godsend the M14 will be when you start adding mods to it.

With the current wipe 7.62x39 PS rounds are extremely expensive around a week ago they were above 1000 roubles a round, now they are roughly around twice what prapor sells them for the past few days. I have to admit I kind of like the decent ammo being more scarce and higher up the progress ladder, I think with a little balancing and tweaking it could be really good for the game overall. Advantage of the 7.62x54R over 7.62x39 and 7.62x51 is availability and effect at low level.

Avt isnt good enough to the point it should be FIR only, u can literally get a stock fal slap m80 or bcp and do the exact same thing the avt does but better bcuz of 20 round mags and modularity, full auto from both weapons (assuming no mods whatsoever are being used, stock FAL) should only be used at point blank and CANT be used effectively at any distance past that so it’s balanced fine.
