A criminally underrated band here in the US. There are live videos of them on KZbin from the Musikladen program that showcase just how phenomenal they were. Mick Tucker’s drumming is some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Why underrated? They wanted so by playing glitterock music to make some easy money. They understood that but then it was too late.

What a great time for music. Something happened to music after this time period and most of it went downhill from there. I remember all the bands of the 60's, 70's, and early 80's. It was a time of music that displayed talented musicians, great lyrics, melodies, and harmonies. Many of the musicians back then were self-taught and had raw skills, but they played with a lot of heart and soul. A great time to grow up as a child and teenager. Long live Classic Rock.

Masterpiece. Every bit as great as Stairway to Heaven and Bohemian Rhapsody . The Sweet were underrated all around . Time has been good to them . Many of the bubble Metal bands that came after them like Motley Crue and Def Leppard acknowledge Sweet as a huge on influence them . Somebody informed that even Gene Simmons said “ Had there been no Sweet , there would have been no Kiss .”

Always loved Sweet bought all of their singles BUT have never heard this extended version! The break reminds me of Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield. A truly awesome band with a hard rock edge - desperately under rated - sadly, now there's only one member still alive. Thanks for posting and reviewing. Peace.

I saw Andy Scott (Sweet guitarist) touring a few years ago and he could still hit those insanely high falsetto harmony lines, even though he speaks with quite a deep voice. Incredible, really, given that he was then in his late '60s! Sweet were always very much overlooked by the music industry. Partly self-inflicted, perhaps as they had a bit of a reputation for being difficult to manage. Fantastic run of singles in the early/mid '70s, though.

@@BoltRM I'll say they were. I dare anybody to listen to their album Desolation Boulevard and tell me that they could rock as good as anybody at that time. The late Mick Tucker an amazing drummer, Andy Scott could sing and played great on lead guitar. Steve Priest on bass kicked ass and also had a great voice. And the late Brian Connolly on lead vocals could belt them out.
