2003 was different. It was just around the time the Nasdaq bottomed and ended almost a decade of speculation in tech. People who were in tech pretty much lost everything and anyone who had some money left to speculate wanted something completely different, like junior miners. Today there is still a lot of speculation in crypto. You would have to see crypto down 95% for the masses to change direction.

If one is a dedicated PM stacker, the actual price is irrelevant. It’s all about ounces. That doesn’t mean one isn’t price ‘sensitive’. I’ve ended my gold purchases for now, because I believe we will have a serious pullback. But I’ve shifted my buying to silver. I’ll come back to gold on a 20% drop. IMO, the correct strategy is to buy and hold physical as a large % of NAV (50%+), because that makes it much harder to dump it when it drops, but it also ensures you catch 100% of the upside. Then if you want to trade it as well, use an ETF. The only time to sell physical is when the DOW/Gold ratio gets to 5. At that point, sell 75% and buy blue chip dividend equities and ride those until the ratio reverses to 15/1. The paid newsletter is the best.
