Awesome video! Since I’m just learning a lot of these techniques, do you need to clean out the fluff as I’ve seen demonstrated on other videos for tying wings etc ?

If you place the clip on the table with materials in it and tap it carefully in the back with a finger the materials Will spread out.. Marco Crippa showed my that personally a Day i had the honor of tying flies next to him in germany.. Great demonstration of the tool! I love mine!

You can use the whole CDC feather if you just loop the feather over to make your wing. All of it can be used. Deer hair looked great.

Great tutorial! Thank you! I’m very new to the fly tying world, so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what’s the tool called that you hung on the bottom of your dubbing loop to twist the line?

How is the spring tension on this tool? I think the Pettijean setup is a good concept, but I found the springs WAYYY too weak for my taste. I'm pretty sure if a fly landed on one of the "handles", the Pettijean clamps would open. :-) Cheers!

Cheech - From experience, do you believe the composite twist loop/thread method is more durable as a substitute hackle material on the fly vs. the typical hackle wrap method?
